3/99 ***We have a 1987 Nissan van with over 150,000 miles on it. Frost Nissan has been wonderful to us. We took it in for a major tune up recently and they looked it over, called us, and said it really only needed the minor tune up, thereby saving us over $200.
| ***The guys at the Mobil down at the next rotary have worked on my 240 a couple of times. Reasonable prices, easy stroll for drop off and pick up. ***Absolutely DESPISE the Nissan dealership in Inman Square. Very fair, reasonable prices, good work. ***My mechanic (who I love) doesn't do Nissans, but I found her through the "Car Talk" Web Page, which is generally a good place to get mechanic recommendations. You can specify the type of car and the location of the shop and it will spit out a list of mechanics along with what folks have to say about them. ***I don't have any specific Nissan folks. But do avoid Mirak Nissan, if they're still in business. They're crooks! I'll tell you the whole story, if interested. ***Once again I recommend my heroes, the wizards at ABJ Foreign Auto Repair, 91 Marshall St., Somerville. I am convinced that they can do anything, and they are HONEST. Call 6256632 and ask for Al. ***I drive a Nissan and have taken it to Mike's Auto Service, which is in Somerville, but a ways east (Medford Rd I think). They've always been quick, friendly, and honest. I don't think they are Nissan "specialists" though, if that's what you're looking for. ***I've been very happy with Ultima Ltd. in Waltham, just over the Belmont line. They are a general foreign car shop, and they give you credit for a loaner or a cab for major repairs. 781.894.0050. ***Nai Nan Co on Mass Ave is great with Japanese cars. ***Belmont Auto Repair, near corner of Trapelo and School st. in Belmont. 1/00 ***Jimmy's Foreign Auto on Prospect St. near Central Square in Cambridge. 8761262. Honest and reasonable. The 83 bus goes from near the Alewife T to right in front of Jimmy's. ***I recommend Vinny Graceffa, whose shop is in Waltham. His son, Peter, works in BRC and can give you more information regarding appointments, directions, etc. ***Just over the Belmont line in Waltham is Ultima Ltd., where I had my Acura serviced for many years. For major repairs, they'll pay for a loaner car. The mechanics there are very open, honest and informative. They're not the cheapest, but they saved me money on some unnecessary work recommended by another shop (Chico's Sunoco on Fresh Pond Parkway). 7818940050 ***Andy Neiman, Moraine Auto, Belmont 4691946.
