1/99 *I have gone to Murray's Shoes in Medford Square, for at least 3 weddings. They have a decent selection of shoes and always do a good job with the dyeing. * I was just in a wedding and we got our shoes at Payless. The one in the plaza across the street doesn't carry them, but the stores in the strip mall at Wellington Circle in Medford on Rte 16 (after the Meadowglen Mall; at the big intersection with Rte 38? across from Kappy's, near a Super Stop & Shop) and also at the one in the Cambridgeside Galleria do carry dyeables. They have about 6 styles to choose from and a book of about 50 colors you match your dress up to. They send the order up to the factory in Maine and you can get them back in about a week. They were $30. Ours were hunter green and they matched perfectly. Any of those dyeable shoes aren't the most comfortable shoes in the world, but for $30 they were bearable! * Payless shoes does it (but not in Fresh Pond Mall), the one in Allston on Harvard Ave does and they can get it done in about a week. You buy a pair of their dyeable shoes and pick a color (best to bring the dress). * Any wedding boutique ought to be able to do the job. * There is a bridal shop in Watertown, on Mount Auburn, who does this sort of thing. The name of the shop escapes me, but I know they dye shoes. You need to take a sample of the fabric and they will match the shoe to the fabric. They are located on Mount Auburn, on the left hand side if you are going to Watertown from Cambridge, about a block or so before the Starbucks. * Kinney's shoes located Downtown Boston and also at the Galleria in Cambridge. *** The Shoe Horn which is located in Newtonville and Natick dyes shoes quite well. They also sell a fairly large variety of silk shoes to dye.
