PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENT

From a prenuptial agreement filed last August (1996) at city hall in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by Teresa Garpstas and Robert "Rex" LeGalley, an Albuquerque couple.

Finances

We will both live within a budget. We will pay off all credit card debts before making any major purchases. We will each receive an allowance of $70 per week to cover haircuts, eating out, gifts for friends, and spending money.

We will spend the following amounts on gifts for relatives: Christmas: nieces and nephews, $5; our children, $100-$125; parents, $30-120. Birthday: nieces and nephews, $5; our children, $100-$125; parents, card.

Sex and Child Care

We will engage in healthy sex three to five times per week. Teresa will stay on birth control for two years after we are married and then will try to get pregnant. When both of us are working, Teresa can have only one child. When one parent is free, Teresa can have another child. When both of us are free, Teresa can have one more child. After the third pregnancy we will both get sterilized.

Children (present and future)

If Robert and/or Brandon (Rex's sons from a previous marriage) elect to live with us, they will have a bedroom, even if they have to share it. When Robert and Brandon aren't living with us, they will be treated as guests when they come to visit. Sleeping arrangements will be on an availability basis. They will be expected to help out around the house and obey house rules. Robert and Brandon will be referred to as "our boys." We will take the children on one good vacation per year. During their high school years, we will provide a six-year old car for the children if they can pay for the insurance and gasoline. Upon college graduation we will buy each child a reasonably priced car as a present.

Personal Conduct

Family leadership and decision-making is Rex's responsibility. Teresa will make decisions in emergencies and when Rex is not available. We will both make ourselves available for discussion fifteen minutes to thirty minutes per day. We won't raise our voices with each other. If we get angry, we will count to ten first. We are both willing never to badger each other.

We will not use tobacco products and will practice moderate alcohol consumption. On weekdays, we will turn out the lights by 11:30 p.m. and wake up at 6:30 a.m. When driving, we will stay one car length away from other cars for every 10 mph. We will buy supreme unleaded fuel (Chevron) and won't let the fuel gauge get lower than half a tank. We will provide unconditional love and fulfill each other's basic needs.

We will enjoy a great life together! We don't care what others think about us. We will do what's right for us!
