Each Serving | ||
1 | large banana, cut lengthwise, then in half as needed to fit small dessert bowl | |
1 | Tbsp | butter |
3-4 | Scoops | vanilla ice cream |
3 | Tbsp | walnut pieces |
2 | Tbsp | ginger brandy, or mixed brandy and rum |
Melt butter in saute pan over medium heat |
Brown banana lightly on both faces |
Add one Tbsp brandy or rum and flambe |
Add one scoop ice cream and saute until partially melted on the outside |
Pour into small dessert bowl |
Top with rest of ice cream |
Garnish with walnut pieces |
Add remaining brandy and flambe |
Variations: |
For lower alcohol content, add all the brandy/rum to the saute step |
Ice cream can be served separately for a cleaner presentation |
