Get that? Alrighty then. Let's start with the basics. The entire Digimon series is set in a place called the Digital World. The Digital world is a space of existance that is made out of Digital Data. All computer, No matter something as complex as Super computer or as simple as hand held calculators, export and import data from and to the Digital World. Human did not make the Digital World, it appear out of nowhere like our puny Earth. The Digital World has it's own life forms, most of them are known as Digimon (or Digital Monsters), they are digital life form that varied in different ways. Digimon are vary intelligent, some of them even exceeds the intellegence of humans. Like computers taking data out of the Digital World, Digimon extract the data and information from the Real (or Physical, as i would like to call it)world, namely our puny Earth, and use it as they adapt to their enviroment. Digimon has the ability to instanly evolve, taking a more powerful form to adapt to their enviroment or to fend off their enemies. Such proccess are called Digi-Volve, or Digital Evolution. Be cause Digi-volve takes up alot of energy (in this case, data), the Digimon usually turn back to it's original form, some Digimon, however, are capable of permenent Digi-volution. Digital World are not with in the Physical World's time/space. It has a much faster Time frame then ours (1 sec/1 Digi-day). Because of the much faster time frame, most Digimon usually has a life span of 681177600000 years (the estimated age of the Digital world is 73445577865468954254525452562578564300000000000000000000000000000000000000000 years old)(some lived practically forever). When humans come to the Digital World, they will adapt the same life spane as the Digimons.

Digimon's culture and life style are that of the reflection of the Physical World, however, there are treaces of empires with unique cultures of their own. The current Digital World are living in a state of anarchy, with small scale organizations such as traveling merchants, trade settlements, villiages and towns, mercenary companies, terrorists, underground armies, and warlord clans. strife and conflicts often happens between each and every organizations, there for some Digimon united with common interest to keep the peace. They had managed to avert large scale war and battles.

However, such organization are too weak to defend the peace and freedom of the Digital World, so among human children between the age of 10 to 13, few are chosen by wise and powerful Digimon to become Digi-Destined, and each were given a partner Digimon. The reason of choosing human children are mostly because of the Digital World's unique enviroment. Emotion and Passion are all data in the digital world, and children between the age of 10 to 13 are capable of alot of emotion while still has a grasp of reality. With the amount of data Friendship and love and all that kind of good stuff provides, partner digimons of the Digi-destined could Digi-volve and defeat all evil who threaten to distroy or conquare the Digital World.

Among the first Digi-destined are:

• Taichi "Tai" Kamiya: Because he had a strong opinion and is generally liked by the group, he assumes the position of leader, however, he sometimes can be a hot head. Partner Digimon is Agumon, a little yellow T-rex looking digimon who breaths fire. Vary friendly, but is just as irrational as Tai.
• Hikari "Kari" Kamiya: Tai's little sister, she's only 6 years old when she joined the quest. She's vary gentle and sweet, make people wonder that Tai and Kari comes from the same family. However, Kari has a alter ego that is cold and furious, and it can unleash incredible power in the Digital World. Her partner Digimon is Gatomon, a former servent to an evil Digimon warlord. She has a sassy attitude but also sweet, much like Kari.
• Yamato "Matt" Ishida: Tai's best friend and arch-enemy. He's calm and some time hard to be with. He's vary protective of his brother, because their parents were divorced and he rarely see him. His partner Digimon is Gabumon, a digimon who 'wears' a furry skin. He's gentle and kind, and he will do anything for Matt.
• Takeru "T.K." Ishida: The little one in the bunch, he's about the same age as Kari. A kind soul but usually is the cry baby. But when all hopes failed, he's always the one to bring hopes back. His Partner Digimon is Patamon. Hamster-like digimon with bat-like wings for ear and has no nose. He's vary playful and vary irrational, But he's always ready to sacrifice for his friends.
• Sora Takenouchi: The tom-boy type of girl, plays in the soccor team with Tai. In the Digital world, she plays the role of third-in-command (After Tai-first, and Matt-second), the other hot head, and some times a motherly figure. Though on the out side she appear to be stronger (emotionally) even more than Tai, but inside she needs someone to rely on. Her partner Digimon is Biyomon, a pink bird with claws on the tip of the wing. Vary playful like Patamon, but also caring.
• Jyou "Joe" Kido: He's the eldest among the bunch. He's a grade six kid who's always stressed out about his entrance exam to junior high school (Japan has a six years elementary school, and a three years high school with entrance exams), he has different opinion than the others and was always overlooked by the leader group (Sora, Tai, Matt). But when in time of needs, he's always strong enough to rely on. His partner Digimon is Gomamon, a furry sea-lion looking digimon. He's playful yet ignorent, often get his freinds into trouble, but he can always get them out of their trouble again.
• Mimi Tachikawa: She's the spoiled one, but not enough to make her a brat. She's kind and gentle in an ignorent way. Her popularity in school does not pass on to the Digital World, there for she has no friends at the beginning except T.K. who think she's nice. She has a strong side for other's to support on, which later earned her the friendships of others. Her partner is Palmon, a walking plant with a flower on her head. She care vary much for Mimi's well being, and will comfert Mimi when she's feeling low.
• Kushiro "Izzy" Izumi: The computer genious. He usually wrap him self up in his own little world, which make people think that he has no emotion, but he does, he is just convinced that no one cared. He's usually among the leader groups sharing his vital knowledge on the Digital world. His Digimon is Tentomon, a red beetle. He's sort of like a side kick to Izzy, always following him around. But when Izzy is in doubt (emotionally), he'll always be his guide

The Digital World went through great turmoil after the arrival of the humans, it's also revealed to the Physical World when the barrier between the two world was ripped open by a powerful Digimon warlord. The quest of the First Digi-destined and the revelation of the Digital world was from now on known as the War of the Digi-destined. For the first time the fate of the world was on the hands of eight children and their alian partners, but they've come through as a team and defeated the evil that threaten to enslave each and every life there is. But the War did not end there, two years later, the Digital World was at the feet of the Digimon Emporor (or Kaiser, in Japan), a Digi-destined currupted by darkness and the promise of power. The second part of the War of the Digi-destined began, with some new faces.

• Daisuke "Davis" Motomiya: He's the ultimate hot head. He admires Tai vary much, and he tried to be Tai, but he lacks the judgement Tai has. He's usually nice to others but there are time when he's being vary stubbourn and ignorent. He has a crush on Kari but Kari didn't seems to like him vary much. His partner Digimon is Veemon, a blue dinosaur. He's a replica of Davis, a hot head.
• Miyako "Yolei" Inoue: A playful girl who's interest seems to be argueing with Davis. She's eldest among the group, and the only girl besides Kari. She's vary found of Izzy because of his Computer skills, but also has a crush on Ken although she didn't know Ken has another identity. Her partner is Hawkmon, a hawk with a head band. He's a talktive Digimon. there isn't vary much I can write about him, so I'll just shut up now.
• Ichijouchi Ken "Ken": He's the Digimon Emporer. A boy genius who seems to be good at everything, But deep down he's ever living in the shadow of his dead borther, for some time he thinks that all he could lived for is revenge on this world until the Digi-destined defeated him. He joined with the Digi-destined later but wasn't trusted by any other member then Davis. Which explains their friendship. His partner Digimon is Wormmon. a Catapiller with big eyes. He is vary found of Ken, and he's also sad to see him became evil. In the battle of the Digimon Emporer, Warmmon sacrifice his life to save Ken from eternal darkness of his crime and revived by Ken's sencerity to change.
• Iori "Cody" Hida: He's the son of a fallen policemen, so he's always keen on keeping justice, which caused a slight friction between Him and Ken in the eaerlier part of Ken joining the team. Other then that he's usually gentle and kind. His partner is Armadillomon, an armadillo. He's not as serious as Cody usually is, but when it come down to dangerous jobs, he's the mon to depend on.

During the war, the main battles happens around the above Characters and also T.K. and Kari. The defeat of evil ends the War of the Digi-destined and opens up the open communcation between both worlds. And after a long age of anarchy, with the help of the humans, the Digital World finally have a united goverment to end the dispute between smaller organizations.

There are other Digi-destined around the world but they play a smaller role during the War.

-1994- Sighting and contact between Humans and Digimons by Kari and Tai, All electronic in and around Odaiba,Tokyo stop functioning. along with Tai and Kari, six others of the original Digidestined witnessed the event.

-1999- Globle abnormal weather. abnormal failure of complex electronic products due to massive data disturbance around digital world. july: the digi-destined enters the digital world. Battle of Devimon, Battle of Etemon, Battle of Miyotismon and the incident of the torned sky, Battle of Piedmon and the reforming of the digital world, Battle of Apocylmon and the armageddon of the Digital World

-2001-The second part of the war of the digi-destined began, The battle of the Digimon Emporer, the great hunt, the invasion of Digimon around the globe, Vengence of Mello Miyotismon, end of the war of the digi-destined

-2002- The Digital world federation declared the first official Goverment of the Digital world, United Nation and Britain Commonwealth set up embassy in Major cities of the Digital world.

-2003- Opening of the first functional mass communication portal to the digital-world, the boom of Digimon merchants in the Physical world

-2009- Battle of the Digi-gods
