        It was almost noon,, and the business in Mr. Lin's restaurant was very good.

When Jack and his wife, Linda, were having lunch, a traffic policeman came towards(向)

them.

        "Oh, no. He must have seen me park the car on the non-parking area," said Jack to his wife.

        "You What? Do you know how much it will cost if he gives a ticket?"

        Finally, the policeman came to them, but before he said anything, Jack began to explain(解釋)

why he parked his car on the wrong place.

        "I am terribly sorry, sir. You see, I looked and looked, but I just couldn't find a parking

space. I promise(保証) I will never do that again. Please don't give me a ticket."

        After hearing this, the policeman seemed surprised, and then he understood. He smiled

and kindly said to Jack, "I won't you give you a ticket. I am here to have my lunch, and I am wondering(想) if I can

sit here."
