"It is now or never," Bill says to himself(他自己). She is standing there all alone(讀自). Her best friend, Terry, isn't
with her. Bill is so excited that he can't stop his hands shaking(抖動).
He takes out the note. It reads "Would you like to go to the senior party
with me?" Bill carefully puts the note into the envelope. He has waited for
this moment(時刻) since he first saw Betty. He
quickly walks to her and hands in the note, saying "Hi, I have a note for
you." He is so shy(害羞) that he can't look at Betty.
Someone takes the envelope, and Bill hears a voice saying "Is this for
me?" It is not Betty's voice. Bill looks up only to find that he has given
his note to Terry, not Betty. He has no idea how Terry gets there. Terry reads
the note and then says, "I thought you would never ask. I have been waiting
for this for three years."
