YAMA-INU HIME |
Aka San, Mononoke Hime and Princess Mononoke |
Right, as you may notice most of the guys I liked were pretty spunky in their ways and hardly polite so, what kinda girl do I like you may ask. Well, she does kinda relate to them in personality (OMG is this girl into twisted sick minds you may think but let me explain as we go) From talking about the guys I discussed about the emotions like hatred, sadness and weariness. Now at here I’m going to talk about shamefulness. During the movie you can see the Mononoke (Spirits that never dies) clans were fighting against the clan of Iron Village over claiming the forest, where the Mononokes had lived for eons of years. The people at Iron Village see San, also known as Mononoke Hime and the Gods in the forests as the pests who always attempted to try and kill their leader Eboshi. For Lady Eboshi was kind to them and lead them out of the miseries they were in before in the society and building their own ones here. What they did not understand was that while they were working towards their dreams, they were also destroying the forest that the Mononokes lived all their lives. However, on Mononoke’s side they actually see the villagers as the pests who constantly destroy their sacred forest. San however, even though she fought on the Mononoke’s side, was not regarded as part of the die-hard warriors by most of the Gods. For she, was not born as a Mountain Dog (Yama Inu) but an infant brought by the villagers when they first intruded the forest, they abandoned her to escape from Moro’s (a three hundred years old Mountain Dog God) fangs and claws. Could not stiffen her heart to kill the defenseless infant before her, Moro raised San as part of her pups. As you can see, San’s garments were made out from Moro’s pelts and the weapons she held were from Moro’s fang. She would have been defenseless and hardly surviving if it were not for these attachments. Even though her fellow Mountain Dog siblings see her as part of the Moro clan, she was despised as nothing but a despicable human to the Boar Gods and gorillas. There was a scene when Ashitaka (the leading male character of the movie) argued with Moro about letting her go instead of forcing her to join the blood dual between the Iron Village and the Mononokes. What he did not realise then was that, she could be none of them. Unable to be part of the human community nor able to change into a Mountain Dog, her status had been a lost ship with no where to ashore. Near the end there was a shocking scene when Ashitaka wanted San to help the wounded Eboshi escape from the dying forest. Unable to withstand the warrior before her was asking the infuriating favour, San screamed at Ashitaka to get lost with the woman. Yet he did not do so, but he also responded that she was a human as well. Outbursting with shame, rage and sadness, San denied the truth and stabbed him in the left chest. After realising of what she had done, Ashitaka caught and embraced her as she leant limply into his arms. When every thing was cleared and the dual was over, she told Ashitaka that she liked him, but cannot forgive humans for the horrible things they had done. Nevertheless, Ashitaka responded that she could live in the forest while he lived in the village, and he will ride Yakkuru (his steed) to find her. Even though San’s temper was very short and hard to get along with (especially if you’re a human ^^) you gotta admit that she survived all these insults and unjusts uneasily, and talk about her swiftness ^^ yeah, I got attracted to her unhuman like swiftness when she raided the village and attempted to assassinate Lady Eboshi.
