Finally, a long overdue update...we arrived home from our Alaska adventure on August 4th and were home long enough to get clothes washed, catch up on work and then a week later we headed to Mexico on our annual missions trip with other Los Angeles churches.

We were in Ensenada, Mexico for one week - here's a pic of our church team before we headed to the border.

A picture of the whole team - there were about 70 of us from 6 churches. One team worked on construction at a church - they finished adding the final layer of cement on the outside of the church building.

The rest of the team worked on the Vacation Bible School team - we had 2 VBS's at 2 different sites each day!

Doug and I celebrated our 18th anniversary on the final day of the missions trip and on the way home we stopped at our favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego for an anniversary "linner." It was "linner" 'cause we missed lunch and it was almost dinner when we were finally able to eat. Also, here's a picture of our hard working microwave oven - it was a wedding present 18 years ago and it's still working after all these years!

Doug's college buddies came for a visit and they spent a lot of time looking at old pictures. The middle pic was taken over 20 years ago when they were on the World Trade Center tower.

Matthew's long summer hair is gone - it was fun while it lasted, but we're all happy to see the regular Matthew. = - )
