What a wonderful way to welcome the new year! Mickey Mouse was the grand marshall this year.

After a LOT of rain for the past few days we thought the weather might not cooperate, but thankfully it was another crisp, clear morning in Pasadena.

As you look at our pictures remember that every inch of the floats must be covered with flowers or other natural materials, such as leaves, seeds, or bark - no paint at all.

The 2 piles of blankets behind Matthew contain David and his friend, Sean. They decided to stay up all night and then couldn't stay awake for the parade.

As you can see, the floats were amazing this year!

This year our little Rose Parade group had a wonderful time in the warm southern California sun. = - )

And then came the rain...and more rain....and even more rain. It rained for almost 2 weeks straight in not so sunny southern California.

Here's a look out our front door at our VERY wet front yard and porch.

Here's a look at our back porch - we almost had a flood on our back patio because the pool came VERY close to overflowing!

The rain finally dried up and Kathy took some pictures of her Sunday School class - aren't they adorable? = - )

It's now concert season - the uniforms are a little different (no overlay, beret, french braids, but a bow tie is added).

The Winter Concert was held at a local church...

and they sounded wonderful!

The 3 oldest kids went to Winter Camp with our church. They had a GREAT time getting closer to God, hanging out with friends and playing in the 3 feet of snow that surrounded their cabins!! = - )
