Doug put together another successful youth retreat at Canyon Creek Sports Camp during the weekend. Two hundered youth attended including our church youth group. It was a great retreat!

The retreat focus was "family" - David chose to go to the "My Parents Are Crazy" workshop and the girls went to the, "I Don't Get Along With My Siblings" workshop - hopefully they learned that they really don't have it that bad afterall. = - ) They also had fun on the go karts!

David was the risk taker and completed the climbing wall, leap of faith and ropes course. Angelica and Jennifer chose to watch from the sidelines and cheer him on - maybe next year they'll give it a try.

Doug and Kathy went on a dinner cruise with other clergy couples in Los Angeles.

Our church sponsored an outdoor night of worship in our church parking lot.

The event was a HUGE success and a GREAT night of worship!

The middle school celebrated the final day of Red Ribbon Week (Say No To Drugs) with a "wear all the red you can wear day" and guess who won! = - )

A day later the paint was off and the band uniform was on. The parade competition call time was 6:00 a.m. and Kathy must have braided at least 20 french braids before we loaded the bus and were on our way to Riverside.

This was the first parade for Angelica and Jennifer and the band did a fantastic job!

As a matter of fact, they received 3 first place trophies and one sweepstakes trophy.

This year our 4 kids dressed up as the Scooby Doo characters and I have a feeling this will be the last year for them to dress as a group - teenagers!!

We thought they looked pretty good as Fred, Velma, Daphne and Shaggy, but as soon as the pictures were taken Daphne (Jennifer) became a farm girl in clothes more her style and David escaped trick-or-treating with the family by going to a party with friends.

We had fun trick-or-treating and since Velma and Shaggy stayed in costume they were very happy to find Scooby at our park party and get some pictures!
