Diary
My Life at June 2003
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 30, 2003(Monday)
I went to Banco del Caribe to work on the traffic analysis. I have to walk around with the computer hard drive and the monitor. I will bring the laptop tomorrow and use that.
I went to church for music practice at night. Pastor Ricky Chan's wife Christina was there too. She taught us briefly about how to sing. She graduated from music (piano and voice) from university in Canada. Personally I do not really like her approach. It is good that she taught us music. However, she assumed that we are all "Canadian Chinese Christian" standard. People here appreciate; but I do not think that this can last for long time.
There is a mosquito in my room so I can hardly sleep. It was hot but I still used the blanket to cover myself. The mosquito still breeze near my ear. I opened the room door and hope that it will cool the temperature. Afterward at 5am, it was too cold (even with blanket on) so I sneeze. I prayed to God that I can find that mosquito that bite me several times and kill it with my own hand.
June 29, 2003(Sunday)
I went to church in the morning; nothing big is happening. Pastor Ricky Chan, Paco and I talked about the Tuesday night Outreach. There is much work but very very few workers. I went to club with Ricky, Cristina and Luisa (Mimia's sister in law) and played tennis for 2.5 hours. I was "picking balls" most of the time and did not really sweat. I ate dinner with Luisa at night.
June 28, 2003(Saturday)
It was a quiet morning and afternoon for me. I went to Parque del Este for 48 mins run; spent the rest of the time studying for MBA, eating lunch, shopping for grocery and sleeping.
I went to MB Church for music practice at night. There were about 12 people showed up, more than the number of people showed up in the Baptist Church music practice. However, I will see who still comes after several months of practice.
June 27, 2003(Friday)
I went to Banco del Caribe for the traffic analysis. There are three PCs with only one monitor. So I have to carry the monitor wherever I go. Why Desca doesn’t give me three laptops instead?
I ate dinner at Ricky's house and then went to prayer meeting at night.
June 26, 2003(Thursday)
I went to Banco Del Caribe in the afternoon. The company driver and I brought three computers there for the traffic analysis. However the employees in that bank are busy so we are waiting there for over an hour, load down the computer and left. What a waste of time.
I cooked (boiled everything together) chicken leg, corn and macaroni for dinner. I studied afterward. This will be my daily routine when I start my MBA course. I got to prepare now.
June 25, 2003(Wednesday)
Because I need to install Sniffer Pro software to three computers, I can work in a separate room. My computer is needed to be upgrade which takes about an hour, so I can go to McDonald enjoying fries and reading "The Psychology of Persuasion - Influence" book (MBA book which I borrowed from Ricky Lam).
I went to "Ah Jor" place to have dinner. He asked me to check the reason why his computer cannot activate the digital camera's USB port. It worked on my computer but not on his. They said that I can make US $20k by marrying someone who wants to go to Canada and then divorce later. I joked to them that Ontario accepted same sex couple so I can even marry a guy and make $20k US. We share about Christianity too. People like Ricky Lam, Che So and Mimia are rich but are humble enough to be a normal person in church. I told them that church molded my life. I hope that they can convert to Christ soon.
I did some editing to the ccbootcamp lab I did earlier at night, for about 40 mins.
June 24, 2003(Tuesday)
I had a run in the morning for 48 mins. I hope to get my body back to shape because I used to run for 45 mins every other day in Canada. Afterward, I taught Yanting piano and also computer. I am glad that I can share the knowledge with her; she is a really good friend to me in Venezuela and I treat her like my little sister.
I went to church to play ping pong and had BBQ afterward. It was Tuesday Outreach; I led some games and interviewed Pastor Chan. I was ok, not as good as I expected. There is no program that I need to organize in the foreseeable future. The last several months were overwhelming. Here is a list of programs I did for 2003. End of Jan 2003 - special outreach (life game). Mar 1-4 - Campamento Music. Mar 15-16 - 10th yr anniversary. End of Mar - Special outreach (teach Chinese). Apr 17 - Assemblea music performance. End of Apr - Special Outreach (dating, fill in for Pastora Karen). May 18 - Carora Outreach. Jun 8 - Acarigua Outreach. Jun 22 - Pastor Farewell. Jun 24 - Special Outreach. Of course, I am singspiration leader for Sunday worship most Sunday services, and the Sunday School teach. I guess that I am doing three people's job (or two "Vancouver's Hubert" job)
I phoned Carmen for 85 mins at night. I have not talked to her for such a long time. Yes, it was a bit expensive but it worth the money and the time. In the long distance relationship, this is necessary in order to be familiar to each other.
June 23, 2003(Monday)
I updated photo and diary; lots to do after the Pastor's Farewell. My laptop lately has problem with the screen display; it is off sometimes when I turned on the computer. Therefore, I asked some of the co-worker to help me to fix it, and scanned the computer too. I hope that everything will be ok.
I went to "Ah Jor" place to have dinner. I met him from church but he seldom goes to church. He would like me to help to check his digital camera USB port. I did not fix that at that time but brought his camera and planned to check later. He is selling telephone card and is interested in using internet to make long distance telephone call to China. It is quite high tech (related to what I am doing) which I don't expect to hear from a normal Chinese.
June 22, 2003(Sunday)
I went to church early because I thought that I need to substitute and help out with the music. Turned out that someone else will play piano so I don't have to do anything. Pastor Ricky Chan joined out Sunday School. We had devotional sharing. Afterward, almost the entire church went to a restaurant for Pastor Loh's Farwell and Pastor Chan's welcome (Pastor Chan will only stay here for 3 months)
I planned to go to MB church after the lunch. However, I need to download some photo from Pastor Loh's computer (in church now) so I planned to go afterward. His computer was almost corrupted because he had Chinese and English Window in the same partition. It took Ricky Chan and myself a long time and still cannot recover the photo. Afterward I talked to Ricky Chan about the Jun 24 program and also some sharing. It is good to share in Chinglish with someone from Canada.
It was about 6:30; too late to go to MB Church. So I went home instead. I gave a phone call to pastor Loh saying good bye to him (I planned to see him at MB Church but turned out I can't). I call Carmen at night; we still need to get use to each other's voice.
June 21, 2003(Saturday)
I went to training in the morning; I feel that this is a waste of the time so I went back to home. I clean off the floor, cut hair and ran. Afterward I worked on the PowerPoint presentation and studied.
I went to church at 5 to prepare for Pastor Loh's Farewell which held from 7:20-9:50. I did about 90% of the program planning. There were skits, interview with pastor's daughters, PowerPoint presentation, singing, sharing and so on. It was a bit longer than I thought; however I felt that this is a pretty good program and I considered this as a gift for Pastor Loh's family. We took lots of photo afterward.
After some clean up, I went home at 11. I organized the photo that we took today and hope to show it tomorrow before the Sunday Service.
June 20, 2003(Friday)
I went to the EMC training. It is in Spanish, and some of the notes are also in Spanish (they are originally in English but then some of them are translated to Spanish). I am quite bored. In the middle of it, I got a phone call saying that I need to go to last Friday's customer Drogueria Race to install the VPN. So I missed several hours training. The installation was smooth; I went back to training afterward.
After dinner at Ricky Lam's house, we went to church prayer meeting. The new pastor Ricky Chan led us; he told us the power hierarchy structure of different denomination, e.g. Alliance Church and Baptist Church. This is quite interesting.
Pastor has returned their house to the land lord so they are staying at Ricky Lam's house. They invited me to stay over. We chatted until 3am about church thing and also their lives as missionaries.
June 19, 2003(Thursday)
I need to go to training tomorrow in the next building. It is for Storage Area Network (SAN) from a company called EMC. It looks like that I can expand my knowledge from Cisco to EMC. However, the training will be in Spanish (even though the text book in English) so I may have a hard time understand anything. Anyway, I was trying to learn something about SAN and I hope that I won't waste time tomorrow.
I went home to eat corn, macaroni and chicken leg. I put everything into boiling water; I learnt that it is difficult to make a thick chicken leg to "well done" without over "well done" the surface. Also, it takes a long time to soften macaroni. I spent about 3 hours to work on the 5-min PowerPoint for Pastor Loh's farewell. I am more knowledgeable about PowerPoint after the 10th yr anniversary celebration. I felt a bit sad when I was working on the slides.
June 18, 2003(Wednesday)
Work is quieter this week. I am trying to learn "DHTML" for my homepage too. I went to Mimia's house to practice for the drama for Pastor Loh's farewell.
June 17, 2003(Tuesday)
I finished with the NetFlow proposal and began the IP/TV proposal at work. I called Carmen at her work phone and found out that she did not change her voice mail for quite a while. It still has the May 31 workshop. Therefore, I used some "annoying" method (by asking her to register and then cancel for that May 31 workshop) to ask her to change her voice mail.
I went to Ah Men's house for dinner; Enny was the cook again. Normally they don't eat at their house or they only eat separately. But every time I went, they cooked and ate like a family. I am the "honored" guest.
June 16, 2003(Monday)
I was checking about the NBA result. David Robinson from the Spurs won the title and he is a very good Christian. This reminds me about my goal in life: to be a rich and famous person that is a very good Christian. I will be a good "house-keeper" and use this earthly success to expand the kingdom of God. Actor "Q Won", BC's David Lam or NBA's David Robinson are the class of people that I want to become. If God really gives me this vision, I want to work very hard on this. I must learn to work hard in work too.
My computer caught virus (again) so I have to scan the entire hard drive. It seems like that laptop is not treating too good to me. I had huge problem with my old laptop last September, November and I had this second-hand laptop since this February. The screen of this computer was not functionally sometimes (to be exact, four times) and I needed to bang, shutdown-turn on the computer in order to make it work.
I ate dinner with Che So's family. Originally I only planned to give her some dirty clothes so that her maid can help me to use washing machine to wash for me. She invited me to dinner and it turned out that it was her 26th year wedding anniversary. We ate hot pot at her restaurant.
June 15, 2003(Sunday)
I was the song leaders this morning; this is also a Baptismal Service. I wrote a rap-talk song (using the idea from Apr 17 "Stream of Praises") for this baptisms service; Paco also wrote a rap song for the Father's Day too. Writing rap-talk song is getting easier, because there is less musical talent involved.
I went home after the church luncheon. Once again, I said "no" to the church meeting. I am not sure what it is about; Mrs. Wong wanted to ask as many people to attend and I bluntly said no again. I know my limit and I know what I am doing; I need to say no whenever I have to.
After some studying and sleeping in the lunch time, I went to MB church for the Chinese fellowship. There was a male-vs.-female debate about "Father is greater than Mother". One of the couple (this is youth fellowship, but there are some older people join us too) Leo and Kitty (married for 20 years) almost got to a serious verbal fight. It was interesting to watch from the side line and I hope that they will be ok when they get home.
I went to Dr. Chu's house for dinner. Elisa shared about her wedding plan. She hopes to have wedding this August; the time is rush and she has not started to prepare anything yet, not even the approval from both families. Same as the wedding of Luisa Wu (Feb 14, 2003), they have a very short wedding preparation time and the scale is very small, compare to any wedding I have been to in Vancouver.
June 14, 2003(Saturday)
I called my family for Father's Day. My dad was expecting my call and it is good to talk to him. And then I went out for a 52-mins-run. I used to do it every other day in Canada but very seldom in Venezuela. My "air" is not really there and I need to train myself again.
I went to church for the church council meeting at 1. Originally I do not plan to go because I need some break from the church work. However, since this is the pastor's last church meeting and we need to discuss the Jun 24 "last Tuesday of the month Chinese outreach", I went. They wanted to have another meeting to discuss Pastor Ricky Chan's schedule in the coming several months but I refused. I went to MB church to study and sleep instead (while the Spanish youth have the fellowship).
I started the music practice for the MB church tonight. Basically I planned to teach the same songs that I had taught Baptist Church. There will be a big Outreach (like the Sep 1 Movie night) in August 3. I need to prepare some songs to perform at that time.
I called Carmen at night; I shared with her the recent events and my feedback in church. She updated me some events (gossip?) in Vancouver too. We need to be familiar with our voices before I go back to Vancouver.
June 13, 2003(Friday)
I went to a customer Odebrecht for traffic analysis. They have 3Com switch instead of the Desca-supported Cisco switch. Therefore, I cannot do anything and need to go back next week.
I went to Ricky's house for dinner; I ate a lot (double or triple what I average ate for the last several meals) and really full. And then we went to church for prayer meeting.
June 12, 2003(Thursday)
I helped to troubleshoot for the customer "Drogueria Race" problem. I was supposed to go to their site to fix the problem but everything was fixed through online troubleshooting. This saves myself a trip. I was checking some java script in the afternoon and cut-and-paste them to the Baptist church and MB church website.
I went to Paco's house for dinner; we talked about the Jun 24 outreach and also the Stream-of-Praises-rap-talk-Father's-Day-version too. I called Carmen at night; I am able to leave her text message to her cell phone through internet but it is still better to talk to her through telephone.
June 11, 2003(Wednesday)
I was working on the customer "Drogueria Race" problem. The two VPN sites can ping each other but not to the internet. I have no idea how to fix it. I am annoyed about this customer because the IT people there know very little thing and I have to take taxi which cost me much money. Afterward, I went to another customer Comsat for some traffic analysis. I just need to leave the router there and then return about 1 hour later.
I went to church for music practice at night. We only practiced for 45 mins because 1) most of us know the songs 2) we are still recovering from the Jun 8 outreach at Acarigua and 3) Chi Kong has to leave early. Che So told me that in Jun 24 (Tuesday, holiday) the Spanish youth will go back to Acarigua again for a basketball tournament. They played with them in Jun 8 and then they would like to use the basketball ministry to spread the gospel. They wanted me to go too because they need six people. I would like to go; however, I have other consideration. In May 18 and Jun 8, about 13 of us went to Barquisimento and that left a vacancy to the Caracas Baptist Church. In addition, that is the last Tuesday of the month and we have a Chinese youth outreach. Moreover, Pastor Loh will leave on Jun 23, the day before that tournament. We have already planned a picnic. If some of us go inside again, it may hurt the Caracas Church. This is something that I really need to consider. Even though this is a gospel ministry, Caracas Baptist Church Christian may misunderstand in this sensitive time. I agree that the Spanish youth should go. However, it may not be wise for me to go. (The young people here called me "bert suk" [Uncle Hubert] because I always hang around with the adults. The youth have invited me to go to mall or bowling and I never go with them. Hmmm, I guess that they will think that I am even more "bert suk" after I skip this basketball game).
There was a pastor, Ricky Chan, came from Toronto from June to August. He has a heart for missionary and wants to bring his family down to experience the life of South America. May be God will call his wife too at that time. He has four kids, age from 5 to 10 years old. I talked to him (in Chinglish!) last night about our church's Chinese youth ministry.
June 10, 2003(Tuesday)
I went to customer Seniat for traffic analysis. I was told to go to their Los Ruices (near my old Dr. Chu house) office in the morning. Since I have to pay for the taxi myself, I decided to take bus (hey, I like bus after my first bus ride) and asked for direction. I was on time. The building is in construction and it took me some time to find the right room within the constructing floor. After talking to them, I found out that my co-worker gave me the wrong info. I should go to the office at Chacao, which is the one that I always go. That wasted about 2 hours.
This is a traffic analysis job. Therefore, I left my computer at their office from 11 to 3:30 and went home in between, which was about 22 mins walk distance. After eating lunch, I went to supermarket to buy food. I also read book and slept in the mean time; it is an easy day.
I went back to office to work on the traffic report. I had dinner with YanTing at night. I lend her money (Cdn $200+) to buy a electric piano last Friday; she showed that to me and it was a decent one (about $400)
June 9, 2003(Monday)
I woke up at 5:15 and then went back to Caracas at 6:15. Mimia, her two daughters and Chi Kong left with me. Mimia drove and the trip was 4.5 hours; I slept most of the time but whenever I woke up, I asked Mimia whether she is tired. (But there is nothing that I can do) I arrived to my office at 11.
I have to go to customer site, Drogueria Race, place where I went to last Friday, again in the afternoon. I need to perform a VPN demo for them. I have to go to another site for another end point. I do not think that it is necessary because once I go thru internet, one or two places are the same. However my company's coordinator (who gave me this task) insisted; her English is not that great and I had a tough time to communicate with her. It will be difficult to co-ordinate between two places and I expected a tough ride. However, I am glad that thing was smooth on the other site and I am able to go back to office at 6pm
I was at the office until 8pm, had dinner myself and then went home to read MBA books. This will probably be my life when I start my MBA program.
June 8, 2003(Sunday)
I woke up at 6:30 and had breakfast with the church people. Afterward, we left at 9 to go to Acarigua. During the drive, the bus was stopped by military. A soldier came onto the bus to check our identification. We had problem here. Karissa (Pastor's daughter) lost her ID card previously and only had a temporarily card. Justina (Pastor's another daughter) not only lost her card previously but also forgot to bring her temporary card. Megan only had her US passport and did not have the immigration paper. My passport was left at Barquisimento church (I brought it from Caracas but did not bother to bring it to Acarigua) and I only have a photocopy, Canadian Citizen Card and business card. Therefore, we were the "chosen" group and needed to go down the bus and to the police station nearby. That was not too scary for me because I have been thru this previously (my Vancouver visit in December 2002), there are brothers and sisters besides me too. It ended up that everyone was ok and we don't need to pay them any money. This may be an attack from the devil and God protected everything. We only lost 35 mins but gained a lot of confident within ourselves and to God.
We delivered some gospel flyers and magazine and had lunch afterward. The Outreach program was from 4:40 to 6:40. I was the MC (along with another person from Barquisimento) and also the singspiration leader. We warmed up with the "Watermelon Kung Fu" and asked-them-some-questions-and-asked-them-to-raise-hand. After some music we had welcome time. There were some paper sticking under their chair and they will have gift if they have that. Also I asked "who is in Venezuela longest" or "Who knows the most language" and gave prize to these people too. I led them singing "Auld Lan Sign" (with Christian lyrics), "Happy always sing" (ACM), "Ask Me", "Inside Jesus" (ACM), "Wonderful Hand" (ACM's "You Are King"), "All because of you", "Life is for what" and "Stream of Praises". Overall the atmosphere is lively and not boring (because I did a good job as a MC and singspiration leader). I am satisfied with that. There were 50 people from Barquisimento Church, 30 from local Caucasian Church, 10 from Caracas Church and 40 Acarigua non Christian. There were 11 people converted. I am sure that everyone was happy about the overall program. Some of the youth played basketball afterward; I wished to play but did not bring clothes.
We went to Che So's relative for dinner at night and then had evaluation for 1.4 hours until 1:30am.
There is one reason for the success of the program. The Caucasian Church has invited us to help out for a year. They kept on praying for that and organized the house visit for us. I am sure that their prayer and their preparation count for a big part of the success.
June 7, 2003(Saturday)
Many of us went to Barquisimento today: Pastor family, Che So family, Mimia's family (except her husband), Chi Kong and Eric. We left the church at 10 and arrived to Valencia for lunch. And the we finally arrived to Barquisimento at 4:30. We practiced songs, dinner and packed up equipment for tomorrow's outreach most of the night.
June 6, 2003(Friday)
I am going to a new customer, Drogueria RACE, to work today. It is for a demo for this customer. During the morning when I was there, I found out that a cable is not given to me. I cannot do much and then I went back to office for lunch. My co-worker told me that I am supposed to have a checklist myself and check all the necessary equipment. Also there is something else that I am not sure about and I need to ask the junior co-worker. I felt so dumb and I am sure that they feel that I am stupid too. It is not a good feeling.
I went to the customer in the afternoon again. I have to pay taxi myself and each trip cost about 5500Bs (Cdn 5.5). It may sounds not much from a Canada perspective, but I feel that it is a lot because I am taking taxi four times (two round trips) and costs me 22000Bs! As expected, the thing is not working. I spent some times to troubleshoot and found out that the ISP did not give them the internet service yet. No wonder why! And why I was sent to do the demo if the internet is not up? It is a waste of my time and my money.
I did not go to prayer meeting at night because I wanted to save some time for myself. There is pot luck at night to welcome Pastor Ricky Chan and family arrived from Toronto for the Short Term Ministry from June to August. I stayed home reading MBA books instead for 2.5 hours.
June 5, 2003(Thursday)
I need to go to a place named "La Guaira" (about 30 mins drive, near the airport) with co-worker Jairo for three customers. There is someone coworker drove us there. We first went to CanTV to learn how to configure the Efficient modem. Then for the first two customers, we replaced the Cisco router with that Efficient modem. We encountered some telephone line issue in the first customer. Other than that, the missions are successful. Actually I did not do anything; I was just standing there watching Jairo did everything. He was a really junior Engineer but he knows the modem more than I did (because during that 40mins training in CanTV, everything is conducted in Spanish, and he has done that before). For the third customer, we are supposed to do the reverse - replaced the Efficient modem with Cisco router. It does not really work; Jairo needs to go to University for exam so we did not have enough time to troubleshoot.
I went to church for dinner and then music practice. I discovered a painful truth: I started to serve with bitterness. There are three reasons. First, there are just too many thing for me too do. It is related to the second one, which is that there is no one capable of stepping up to lead. Therefore, I am stuck in a situation that I have to lead everything by myself. I am trying to train someone but other people are working full capacity in their serving too. All these should be ok according to my "serving-holic" character. However, the last point killed me. It is that, I have no good friend to share here. I cannot find any peers that I can share with. The adults are too old; the Chinese Youth are too young spiritually and the Spanish youth formed their own circle. Whenever I am tired, I need to swallow that myself. Probably God is teaching me a lesson of "Fully Rely On Him". I am not doing a good job yet and I hope to get there soon. However, there is no way that I quit some of the serving now because life still goes on. However, I am aware that I have this bitterness and I must retreat myself before I say any negative thing. After the Acarigua Outreach this weekend, singspiration leading next weekend and Pastor Loh's farewell in two weeks, I better take some time off myself. I really look forward to my Vancouver visit because I can take my mind off the church and share with my friends again.
June 4, 2003(Wednesday)
There was a little bit of troubleshooting for customer PUIG and other than that, this is another peaceful day. I went to Mimia's house with Paco and Luisa and talked about the farewell of the Loh families. We practiced the drama. Afterward we went to ate yogurt (I thought that it was ice-cream after the first mouth. It is soar, but not as bad as I thought)
June 3, 2003(Tuesday)
The two elevators at my apartment seldom work. Most of the time there is only one functioning and for the last several weeks, I have to walk most of the time. I reside in the 9th floor and it is a good exercise for me. This morning, one of the elevators is working. However, when it arrived to the ground floor, it only opened a 30cm gap (because the elevator actually was not functioning?) and I was trapped inside. I had to use all my strength in order to open a slightly bigger gap so that I can escape. It only took 3 mins but exhausted me.
There are also two elevators in my office and one of those seldom works. My office was at the top floor (8th floor) (for some reason, the elevator ends at the 7th floor) and it takes much patience to wait for it to stop at every level all the time. Therefore, I usually walk up the stair when I took the coffee break. Therefore, here is the time that I walk up the stairs each day. Once (8 floor) in the morning break at office, once (9 floors) during lunch, once (8 floors) in the afternoon break at office and one more time (9 floors) when I go home at night.
I have ordered cheque from Commerce Bank since Feb 19. It has been 3.5 months and I have not received anything. I have sent lots of message through the website for inquiries and they wanted me to track down the cheque myself. I ended up going to the Banco Mercantil (the local representative for the Commerce Bank) and they told me that my cheque will be arrived this week. Let's see.
Nothing much happening at work. My boss once told me yesterday that he would like to discuss with me about a new project but he was not in office since then. I went to church for music practice at 7.
June 2, 2003(Monday)
A middle-small size dog ("Little black" or "Siu Hak" in Chinese?) followed me from my apartment building door to my office door. There is about 13 mins walk. This is the first time that I walk with a dog. I did not own this dog and I don't think anyone does. I did not get bite from the dog even though the dog tried to jump to me and ask for a hug when I first saw it, as if I am the master. I am not as mean as I thought, because when I cross the road, I did pay attention for the dog as well. I don't think that I can play those "kick dog" game that I used to imagine with Hansel.
There is nothing much going on at work, except during lunch time the customer Otepi (I troubleshooted their network last Friday) complained that they cannot receive email. Therefore, I spent 1.5 hours to proof that this is a problem beyond my control (i.e. finger-pointing) and had a belated lunch.
Since Carmen does not have to go to work on Monday, I can icq and called her.
I went to church at night for the music practice. Che So's children Heidi and Hedison were there as well. Since God gave me a group of talented youth to work with, my standard is quite high this time. However, that is the first time that they worked with me and do not know my expectation. They cannot read Chinese so they need "ping yin" for all the Chinese songs. (The same case is for Eric or Cristina) I am trying to push them to the next level yet not too much.
June 1, 2003(Sunday)
I was the worship leader in the morning. I led "Wonderful two hands" (from ACM's "You are King"), "All for you" (from SoP), "Hevenu Shalom" (from ACM's "Prince of Peace"), "Power of Your Love" and "Prince of Peace" (from ACM's "Prince of Peace"). I taught Sunday School afterward about the "Story Time" of the Major Prophets in the Bible. I helped Karissa (Pastor Loh's daughter) and her friend Calculus in the afternoon. I am trying my best to teach them 1 year worth of calculus in 4 hours time. That is hard. I went to MB Church at night for the youth fellowship. I have not been to the fellowship for several months because the meeting time was changed from Sunday night to Sunday morning, which I have to attend the Baptist Church. However, after several months of trial period, the committee decided to return to the Sunday night because not many people can attend the Sunday morning meeting. I was the singspiration leader again.
Today is a long day and I am glad that even though I was a bit sick yesterday, I am almost fully recovered for today.
During my sleep time, there was mosquito again. I have already over ten bites in my arms and legs during the past few weeks, even with "mosquito hong" (I guess the English word is called "repelor"). Even though it is hot, I covered myself with a blanket; however, the mosquito still flies near my ear.
