Signing on the Zone with Microsoft Passport

A. First get a Email Account at hotmail.com

B. Go to Microsoft Internet Gaming Zone Scrabble II Lobby and click botton for free sign-up which will then give you option to sign-in. Use your hotmail account as your passport sign-in

C. When Zone New Member name comes up; scroll down to use old Zone name and password.

D. Only 1 Zone name can be associated with a Passport/hotmail account

E. You are all set.

On December 10, 2001, the Microsoft Zone started requiring the use of a Passport,MSN Messenger or hotmail account to log into the Zone. Some Players have had problems getting into the Microsoft Gaming Zone and keeping there old Zone name with the implentation of this procedure.

I believe the biggest reason players are having getting unto the Zone is that 15000 Zone players (only 100 are Scrabble) are all trying to sign up with the Passport/MSN Messenger/hotmail login at the same time.

IF you have a Hotmail account, that account name can be used as a passport account. You need to log in your hotmail name into the Passport sign-in.

Its much easier to get the Hotmail account first, then go to the Zone.

Once you are signed into the Zone with the Passport/hotmail sign-in; you will get another option for creating a new zone name or using a MSN login in its place. IF INSTEAD you scroll down father near the end of the page there is another option for "reclaiming Zone name". You just put in your old zone name and password and you will be all set with old name.

Once you get set up with your "Passport" account and "Zone" name you are all set. Now whenever you go to the Zone and sign in with your Passport name, it will automatically sign you in with Zone name.

Keep in mind that your Zone name can only be used with one Passport account. You cannot have two passport accounts and use them with just one Zone name.
