The Atlantic ocean on one side and a bird santuary on the other, the Ohio & Rachel Carson Refuge. At high tide you may have to go through the trees for a short distance before coming out on the beach. Easier walk at low tide. Between Ohio Missouri and Ohio Bahia Honda Channels.

Thanks to Hurricane Rita this cache was lost before it was ever found. But now it has been replaced, slightly relocated and reinforced. Hopefully there will be no more storms here or anywhere else. This is a bird watchers delight. Always plenty of different birds to watch feeding and flying. Nice to sit in the shallow water and watch them. Parking coordinates are 24 40.392 and 81 14.631. The cache is a large plastic jug. Contents, GeoCoin TBK2DT, an angel to protect against storms, toy skateboard, jumbo dice, fish key chain, peace key chain, pewter crab, candle in a tin, marble egg, shells from this beach and assorted beads and stones. The first to find this cache will find a conch shell found on this beach on top of the cache.

I chose low tide and I'd suggest to anyone to do so. Nice walk along the beach but no birds. It's too early. Great spot and great container. TnLn

[DNF on this one pretty much because we think it has gone missing. What we did find was] a big sponge and two conch shells.

[We did not go past any of the preserve signs. We were able to park near the bridge and walk along the beach to the coordinates.]

Another DNF Disapprove because we saw the signs that said "Do not enter" marked clearly. Left to find one's that were not marked.

Third today and the hardest so far. Rubibees and I tried a couple of wrong approaches before making the find. Lovely area and a real Florida hide! Signs aren't no trespassing, just restricted entry because refuge status. Logged some of the washed up lobster traps with legible permit tags in case the owners want to know where to find them or to confirm destruction with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission that issues the permit tags... TFTC!
