| In the folk tradition, comes Alicide. This duo is made up of two righteous babes named angie simms-karp and lesley hoyles who really know how to folk it up. I recently purchased Alicide's first album: In Between the City, a dazzling collection by these two singer/songwriters. The music ranges from gentle strumming to ripping on out. In there lyrics, one finds love to irony and everything inbetween. The first track "Weird Year", starts out slow and mellow, but then picks up into a jammin' beat. angie and lesley shine on vocals. Rapunzel, composed by lesley, is a beautiful and touching song. The piano on this track creates a rich and deep sound and lesley's vocals shine as always. Alicide plays in the Ottawa/Montreal area.
