Cedric Diggory
   Cedric's first appearance was in the third book, as a fifth year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the fourth book, he was seventeen years old and a sixth year. His father was Amos Diggory. Cedric was very good looking and seemed to have a lot of girls hanging all over him. ^_^. Cho seemed to be his girlfriend, but I don't think she was. I think she was just his friend, and he really loved... *pause for dramatic effect* ...Harry. o_O.; Well, probably not. But... Come on, it reeeally seemed like it. *sigh*

   He was a prefect and the Captain and Seeker of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. He was a very good player, he even beat Harry on the Gryffindor team once. Wood says he has a very fast swerve. His broom was probably a Cleansweep Seven or a Comet Two-Sixty.

His wand was twelve and a quarter inches, made of ash, and contained a hair from a particularly fine male unicorn which was seventeen hands high. (And yes, I did memorize that. *sweatdrop*) He took good care of it and polished it very often.

Many people seemed to think he was a bit of an idiot, as shown in these quotes here.
"Now he (Harry) suddenly realized that Cedric was in fact a useless pretty boy who didn't have enough brains to fill an eggcup." and "He's only silent because he's too thick to string two words together."  But as Hermione pointed out, he got pretty good grades, so he couldn't have been all that stupid. ^_~.
    So basically, he seemed like the perfect guy, don't you think? Good looking, nice, hard working, good at sports, good in school... I know what you're thinking. *gives you a brief look of disdain* Hehe. Anyway. o_o.;

Cedric was the chosen Hogwarts champion for the Triwizard Tournament. Harry was put in by someone else, so he wasn't really the real one, I don't think... So that proves that he was brave and all, to put his name in there, and anyway, the Goblet of Fire wouldn't have chosen someone that wasn't worthy to compete. He did pretty well in the competition, too. In the first task, he managed to Transfigure a rock into a dog, which seems kinda cool. ^^. He got a burn on the side of his face from the Swedish Short-Snout dragon though. In the second task, he did the Bubblehead spell (niiice name) and managed to cut Cho free.

   After the first two tasks, he was tied with Harry for first place, which is rather impressive. ^_^. In the third task, he was attacked with the Cruciatus curse, one of the three Unforgivable Curses. Harry saved him from by Stunning his attacker, and they went on again. Cedric was the first to reach the cup, but he was really noble and said Harry should take it, because he had helped him so many times. They both wanted the other to take it, and they eventually settled on taking it together. They each took one handle.

     The cup had been made into a Portkey, and it took both Harry and Cedric to Voldemort and Wormtail.  Voldemort used another of the Unforgivable Curses on Cedric,
Avada Kedrava, the killing curse. He died instantly.

That was not a happy time.

      When Harry and Voldemort's wands combined with that gold thread and the Priori Incantatem spell happened, and the shadow of Cedric was the first person to come out of Voldemort's wand, being the person he most recently killed.

      He then asked Harry to take his body back to his parents. Harry risked his own life to do that.
     Back at Hogwarts, almost everyone was upset about his death, which showed that he was well-liked. And as Dumbledore said, everyone there was affected by his death, whether they knew him well or not.

I think Cedric was a wonderful, very special person and I hope you agree. ^_^.;
