Over 200 Walk for Ukrainian Ophans
June 12, 2005: The third annual Walk for Shoes charity walkathon, held by Help Us Help The Children on June 11, was a huge success. More than 200 people attended and raised thousands of dollars to provide footwear to orphaned children in Ukraine.
The day began with a Kozak warm-up and stretches before the walkers, including numerous family groups, set off for their 5 and 10 km hikes through the picturesque Etienne Brule Park. Following the walks, a barbecue, prize give-aways and other activities kept the fun going for both participants and volunteers.
HUHTC would like to thank everyone who helped make Walk for Shoes such a successful fund raiser. We are already looking forward to next year's event.
