Jesse"The Body & Mind"Ventura
Jesse is one of my all-time favorites wrestlers.
He is in, my opinion one of the 3 biggest-strongest-charismatic-colorful wrestlers of all times, along
with the great "Superstar" Billy Graham who by the way helped to make the 3rd one who is
Hulk Hogan.

The Body was known for for his -
over the shoulder Body Breaker as his finisher -
and was a killer heel all over in the states and even in Japan.
Jesse was there when wrestling was made, he was one of the guys who made it, after coming to
WWF from the AWA(being a former Tag champ with the late Adrian Adonis as the East-West Connection and holding the titles for 11 months from 20/7/80 to 14/06/81 loosing to Branzel and Greg Gagne)
Ventura was one of these guys due his great charismatic skills, his funny and great interviews (some from his Body Shop segments), funny and entertaining commentary and most of all, his memorable wrestling matches.
Even before coming to the WWF, Ventura dominated everywhere he went and battled it out with
the best and greatest of them.
Here I have to note that Ventura was always proud of being from Minnesota, and even I saw couple of entrances and he wore a Minnesota Gym T-shirts, that`s how much he was proud of MN.
In my opinion Jesse`s greatest match is the one against Bob Backlund in MSG 82,managed by the great "Classie" Freddie Blassie. The crowd on hand was amazed to see the big,charismatic,powerfull guy going against their champ, much like the Sammartino-Graham matches, Backlund-Graham rematches and the Hogan-Backlund matches, yet still loving and cheering the heel as well.
Jesse appeared in many movies as a guest star and also in many T.V series.
Jesse`s commentating some times made the matches and helped them look better, and it meant a whole lot to the WWF fans who watched it on T.V, Jesse was there when Hulkamania took off and the train,take your vitamins,say your prayers era of the Hulkster began.
Jesse also feuded with the Hulkster for some time in a great enjoyable entertaining feud.
Shortly in 1987-88, Jesse Ventura's wrestling career was cut short. The official reason that was
addressed was that he had been exposed to "agent orange" in Vietnam and due to health reasons could
no longer wrestle.
Ventura was offered a color commentating job with the World Wrestling Federation and he took it.
Ventura quickly became the greatest color man the sport has ever seen. He would wind up as the
co-host of Prime Time Wrestling on the USA Network with Gorilla Monsoon.
As Ventura's Hollywood career began to reach new heights,(just to mention that he played himself in Hulkster`s Non Hollds barred) he began to appear less and less on WWF television. He was taken off of Prime Time Wrestling when he was filming a movie with Schwartzenegger, and never returned to Prime Time Wrestling. Eventually, the relationship with titan and Ventura took a turn for the worse, and Ventura was out of the WWF lime light.
Ventura retired from the sport of pro-wrestling for a while, and ventured into the world of politics,
eventually winning an election to the position of Mayor of where he had settled down, Brooklyn Park,
Minnesota(1991 to 1995).
Ventura got a call from World Championship Wrestling, and decided to make a return to the world
of color commentating. Ventura worked for WCW for a few years, and he once again retired from
wrestling into obscurity.
He came back to politics, running for governor of Minnesota, and recently won it and
JESSY "The Body" VENTURA IS THE GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA.

Even though Jesse Janos and Terry Bollea aren`t good friends, I don`t think that what Hogan did
with the whole running for president thing will be good for Jesse, I just think WCW did it
to be beat the WWF at it. It just hurts Jesse, but again, it`s Bischoff`s fault!!
