Action by
Money matters
Green Fair profit around £300; attendance and stalls down on last year.
Green Fair in November? Yes. 3rd Saturday (usually on Buy Nothing Day)
Climate change. Richard's campaign for 12 turbine wind farm near Drax, in face of vocal local opposition; good publicity, lots of letters of support, opportunity to extend activity to another wind farm in area. Applications rejected by council, going to inquiry. Useful campaigning information on "Yes to Wind" web site. Group ready to lend support.
Bike Week: ride on Hornsea Rail Trail to organic farm Great Hatfield. 10 am meet Pearson Park, by the pond.
Cargo passed around. "Dead Hedge" built to use all the woody waste, no need to go to Wilmington, possible easy activity for volunteers. Pictures on Cargo web site.
Lord Mayor's Parade: additional volunteers coming now. Meet 10 am Walton Street.
Group invited to have a stall at the Swinemoor Estate fair in Beverley, Saturday & Sunday 30-31 July. Volunteers?
Feast: agreed Arthur to publish Feast mission statement in Hull Eco.
Other suggestions discussed
Incinerator: keep writing letters to local press.
Brimston caterpillars have returned and are munching bigger trees. Newland Wildlife and Barmston Drain entered for Hull in Bloom contest. Newland site is worth a visit.
