Here are some of the layouts which I have used in the past and some comments on what I thought of them. Got any ideas for a new layout? Tell me about it
This is the current layout which I designed mostly because I grew to hate V.4, and also because I thought it might give me a fresh bit of inspiration to continue adding bits and bobs to the site. So far it's working. I like it a lot at the moment especially the fiery colours which I have never really used before.
Well, when I made this I thought - WOW! I'm so proud. At the time I was a bit obsessed with css stylesheets and image maps so thats why its a bit crazy. Then I grew to hate it and just couldn't bring myself to update it because there was so much wrong with it etc. So I re-designed it.
Good old V.3. This was one of my favourites even though, looking back, it was a bit plain. Anyway, I mainly got rid of it because I wanted something new for the new year... which actually turned into a bad idea. It was made up of three frames which often meant it was a little hard to navigate so thats another reason it went. But on the whole I liked it, especially the "current" section which got lost in V.4, but I brought back in V.5.
After the horror of version 1 - version 2 was a nice change. It was dark colours which made it a lot more easy on the eyes. Version 2 stayed for a long time, but I eventually decided it was annoying that everything was a pop-up. Overall I liked the design and was sad to see it go, but version 3 was just as nice at the time, i thought.
Oh lord, no. What was I thinking. Okay, okay, it was my first ever website and I just wanted everything to be bright and colourful - but it looked awful. Everything was flashing and bright and it just looked very, very tacky. I was proud of it, since it was my first, but it did look very bad so I was glad to be rid of it, especially since version 2 was so good.
