It is a funny book about a serious subject. You will laugh a lot but also think a lot. Another important aspect of the book is attracting attention to this subject, specially from a lot of people who have ignored it (including myself).

But in spite of this, this book is a good book for you if you had read and enjoyed the first four books. Do not buy this book if you have not read the beginning of the series. |

The Hitchhikers idea has started as a radio series. This extremely funny (and different) series had been broadcasted by BBC many times. When a fan group was forming Adams wrote the book. The book is also very good. Everything starts in by destruction of the Earth to make a hyper-space by-pass. Our heroes take their towels, peanuts and a wholly remarkable copy of the electronic book "The Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy" and start hitch hiking. This book is the best in comedy-science-fiction. But do not think it is just for fun. Read it carefully to find out it actually is a criticism of us, the Earth people.  | Another strange book from Adams. He suddenly decides that there are to many meningless words that are used to designate places like cities, countries or regions. On the other hand, there are so many concepts that deserve a seperate name that he feels it his (an John LLoyd's) duty to match those.

Douglas Adams's Starship Titanic : A Novel

 | The book of the game that is yet to come. In the recent years Douglas Adams is amusing himself by writing games and he makes other people write his books. In this case, he asks Terry Jones for the job and Jones' answer is "yes".
This book is telling the story of the game. For this reason it is a book written with some limitations in mind. However it is still a nice book where our heroes are trying to save themselves and Starship Titanic from destruction (what else) in her maiden trip. Here is the story : Some aliens built a perfect holiday cruise starship called Titanic. However, the constructors saved some bucks by eliminating vital features of its original design. In its first trip, ship goes out of control, comes to earth and picks up three unsuspecting people for a free ride. Now they have to deal with maniac robots, not-so-clever bombs, aliens, themselves, a journalist, a parrot and a professor. God help them. (In the game version, I believe, you will be the God). |

 | Our holistic detective Dirk Gently is trying to find the killer who has beheaded his best client at the most inconvenient hour of the day.
But this time, he has to confront Gods. They prove to be tough opponents but Dirk gently is quick to understand their tricks. Another book full of clever humorous stuff. Also it is better than the first Dirk Gently book. Also, it is the first Douglas Adams book that do not involve any space creatures. Gods mentioned above are earthly.

 | The fourth book of the Hitchhikers trilogy.
Marvin, the paranoid android, makes his last appearance in this book. And at the end, God's final message to people is revealed. I do not think this good is as good as the first three books of the trilogy. But still it is a Hitchhikers book and it should be read. You will not regret reading this book if you read and liked the trilogy.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

 | The first Dirk Gently novel, the detective with style and philosophy.
Somebody gets killed. Gently is in charge of solving the murder. There are a few characters around to confuse him: an electric monk, a horse, a lovely sister of the deceased, an elderly professor, a whiz-kid, space creatures etc. But his holistic methods solve everything, find the killer and save the earth as an added bonus. Load of fun in Adams' style. And everything starts and finishes in one book. So you do not have to buy five books to read the end of the story.
