The church is at the centre of God's cosmic purpose and is his appointed means of spreading the gospel . . .

. . . world evangelization requires the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole world."

The ANTIOCH seminar is intended for the mission committee and/or leadership team of a local church.  It requires a minimum of three hours and takes place at your church location.

The seminar includes a high level of interaction between the participants and the facilitator.  The interaction ensures that the presentation remains firmly rooted in the realities of the church concerned.

The seminar consists of:
  • Outline of some key biblical principles concerning God, His world, and the church
  • Analysis of the current mission perspective of the church
  • Presentation of a simple planning tool relevant to mission awareness
  • Identification of areas of possible future development for the church
  • Sharing of a wide range of ideas and resources that are available

The seminar can be maximised . . .
. . . either by extending it to six hours, or planning a second three hour session soon after the first one. In this second session, the group will develop specific action steps that will provide a three year mission awareness plan for the church.

The facilitator:
Bruce Dipple has served as a pastor, missionary, and mission executive. He is currently Director of the School of Cross Cultural Mission at Sydney Missionary and Bible College, and Associate Pastor at a Baptist church in Sydney. He has been involved in missions education at the local church level for more than thirteen years.

The perfect scenario would be to take a complete Saturday, from 8am to 4pm, and to work through the complete process.  Two Saturday mornings would be good, and evenings are a possibility - so long as tiredness does not negate the value of the seminar!

If you are interested in the possibility of a seminar, please make contact as early as possible with Bruce Dipple at SMBC.  Contact details are below.

For country areas, it is feasible for two or more churches to join together for a Saturday seminar, although the time might be extended slightly to allow for more small group work.
