Fred Dryer's Football Career

Before he made television history as Rick Hunter, Fred Dryer played defensive end for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams from 1970-1983. Fred did what no other player has ever done on October 21, 1973 when he set the NFL record for the most safeties in a single game by blasting in from right defensive end to dump Green Bay Packers quarterbacks twice to capture a 24-7 Rams victory. This great feat put Fred in the history books and to this day, his record has yet to be broken. This section is a tribute to Fred's terrific but overlooked Football career.
