A Lost Soul Part 1 Dyne took a sip of wine from his goblet, this would be the last time he would enjoy the pleasures of Britain for tonight he rode for Cove. His sword rested against the side of the table, he would say it was forged by Demons themselves in the Abyss, but he would say this about every blade he came across. Though this blade was very interesting the hilt was made out of gold and images were etched in its sides up to the bottom of the blade, set into the gold were three blue gems...this sword was a sentient, it could hear Dyne's thoughts and Dyne could hear its. Dyne has affectionately named this sword Shadowbane. Lying next to his blade was his pure black magic shield. Once again Dyne said it was forged by Demons, though it was magic and Dyne called this one Defender. Hidden in his right boot was a simple dagger. Dyne wore a pure black shadow chain suit, this was his battle wear. He wore a simple belt with leather straps hanging down to hold the sheath of his sword and his shield, he had a small pouch to hold some gold in the front and on the side, he had a large regents bag, that held his spell book regents and some more gold. Across his chest was a green sash with runes and texts etched into it. This sash was ancient passed down from generation to generation in his family, it came from a ancient order his ancestors started and controlled. His cape was very much similar except it was red, but it had the same history as the sash. He wore a amulet around his neck was etched with images that would shift shapes to each of the divisions of the Order. Dyne of noble birth hadn't enjoyed most of the pleasures most other noble children had. After leaving military school at twelve for his unconventional ideas he went to live with his cousins at the northern border who were mercenaries, There he learned to swing the blade, to cast magic and how to survive alone in the wilds of Britannia. He was also taught how to read and write the languages of the creatures of Sosaria, besides common he knew Simplified Sosarian, ancient Sosarian, Dwarven, Elvish, Gnomish, Drow and some Orcish. He had always thought of himself as a Paladin but his code of Honor would make the Paladins of Trinsic shriek, after all his Honor was that of a mercenary. Dyne arose from his table and left the tavern his black steed Trigger awaited him. He climbed onto his back and set out for Cove. He arrived at Cove at dawn finding the town being defended by Warriors he set out for the Orc fort. He rode up against the mountain where he noticed a few lose rocks, he looked at the fought he noticed a three way battle going on he recognized two sides, Orcs and Humans, but the other group was completely foreign. In all his travels and in all the books he read he never saw a creature like this. These people fought like no others, killing large beasts in minutes, then he heard a Orc leader scream out some commands, in it he heard "Forget the Humans go for the savages first!" As Dyne made the realization of what they were He was knocked off his horse, as he lay on the ground a savage jumped on him. They rolled around on the ground wrestling to gain control, Dyne was trying to grab Shadowbane, but couldn't remove it from its sheath, the gems started glowing red sensing the danger. The savage kicked Dyne into the mountain as the rocks fell a cave was revealed and the savage jumped on Dyne once more, as they were rolling down the steep slope Shadowbane and Defender came lose and rolled ahead of them. As they reached the bottom of the cave Dyne managed to reach into his boot and remove his dagger which is quickly stabbed into the Savage's ribs. The savage fell dead on the spot. Dyne picked up his sword and shield and turned to the incline realizing it was to steep to get up and turned around to see if there was any other way to get out. When he noticed the vast network of tunnels Dyne's greatest fear came to life he was lost in the Underdark...Land of the Drow... |
