Cavy Breeds Each cavy at the show is judged to its "breed standard". These standards allocate points to specific features on the cavy (ie ears in one breed might be worth 5 points). All of these breeds are split into 7 different groups. These are the Marked, Coarse Coat, Satin, Self, Crested, Ticked and Longhaired. There are over 50 different cavy breeds.
