"He builds too low who builds beneath the stars" ..... Well, guys, we tried for the stars and I think we made it. The "mother" of reunions went off without a major hitch...or at least I didn't see one.

Steffie Jacobs Susman
What I learned at the reunion...
...that we have turned out better than just 'OK'.
...that I still have crushes on all the same people...plus I have added a few more to the list.
...that Monty's is the only round pizza I have ever seen that is cut into squares.
...that the memorial service was beautifully and tastefully done and that we all feel a profound sense of loss.
...that no matter how many extra pounds, wrinkles, gray hair (or lack thereof), we will be forever young to each other.
...that my feet didn't even know they were hurting until the last dance ended. (Many thanks to those who contributed to my pleasure and my pain).
...that the website, the PEMs, the dedication and tireless work of the reunion committee, the special contributions made by so many of our classmates, and all who attended, did, in fact, make this the "mother of all reunions". It was  Spectacular!

What I learned after the reunion...
...that I forgot to sign the HHS Reunion Banner. Sorry, Harvey. Feel free to forge my name.
...that I am experiencing an emotional low after being on such a "high" all weekend. Just as it was 40 years ago, it is always sad to have to say goodbye.
...that even more than before, I will look forward to getting our beloved PEMs that keep us all in touch. Love to all, Steffie Jacobs Susman

I've been to many class reunions and none of them came close to the "Mother of all Reunions"! This being my first HHS reunion, it was very special to see everyone and hear about the different paths in life they chose.

Kay Thornburg Lewis
The reunion was a SUCCESS! I heard so many good things. The only negative I overheard, was that the Radisson needs to update their
air-conditioning. Thanks again for all you did and are still doing.

Jim Kyer
I just wish to take a moment to let you know that you have succeeded in the "mother of all reunions" I think of the time you guys have spent and the efforts you made, and want you to know it was worth it. The band, was as we expected "great," " The Garden party" an event that surely will be talked about for years to come in the 11th Street area. Larry thank you, for the friend you are. Frank, I must bow to your keen sense of timing and wonderful humor, My music trivia is learned not remembered. Your humor is a true gift. what is your fee for MC? Bob Wild I think made a very good point that I would like to tell you about. He enjoyed meeting people from his class that he had not known as a youth. The stories that these new friends told him made the reunion so much more of an experience for him. I think that was true for others as well. Wysong, I must say, you have turned out well in spite of yourself. Sang and Miller (may the rest in peace) would be smiling at your success. Harvey, you are the man. You and the committee did indeed pull it off. Thank you again. We need to have those extra events to raise even more for the hospices of the area. Just let me know perhaps some golf at the beach. I am sure Joe Mcvay will help on that too. And Becky, your PEM's made all of us so close, that it was easy to catch up with our class mates. After so long the class was still evolved with each other. God Bless you. Take some time off and enjoy the memories.

What great time was had by all, and what a terrific job all you Townies did. Thanks for everything!

Joyce Manus Hill
I had a great time and I want to thank everyone who helped with the reunion! Everything seemed to go well. I know it was a lot of work. Thanks. I am in a real down mode, I had been looking forward to the reunion for so long, and now it is over!

Lucinda Gerber
Everything was wonderful and I really did have the time of my life!!

Brooks Drake
You did a GREAT job with the reunion. Thanks so very much. Last weekend's memories will be pleasantly reviewed in my mind for the rest of my life.

Bonnie Thomas Browning
Whow! What a 40th reunion celebration. We had such a great time. It was truly one of the highlights of the summmer of '02. Can we do it again in five years? Hats off to Harvey and his committee for countless hours of planning and preparation. Thanks so much for your diligence and masterful work in making our reunion such a spectacular event. Hugh and I really enjoyed ourselves. You and your committee just did one outstanding job.

Sandy Johnson Haeberle
Great to see you and you did a wonderful job!!!!!!!! Thank you so much.

Chris Adkins Murray
I'll bet you all had loads of fun last weekend. Sorry, I couldn't be there. The group cruise for 60th birthday sounds like fun...keep me posted!

Lee Mossman
Great time and seeing everyone was great. Just not enough time to spend with those that don't stay at the hotel and only show up for 1 or 2 events....Looks to me like an isolated destination may be the answer....Please don't define Huntington as isolated for we all escaped!

John Ritter
Glad to hear that the Reunion was so successful. I had actually been in Huntington at the beginning of July for about 10 days (and found the heat and humidity even worse than I remembered!), but I had to get back here for the start of our fieldwork season. Thanks again for all your effort and creativity, all you sleuthing, in compiling the classmate data and maintaining that *stellar* HHS 62 website. Through it I've been able to locate several old friends, and I'm very grateful for that. It's strange to see the necrologies, though the actuaries would probably say that, overall, we've been a robust group. Still, it saddens me to see the pictures with the birth/death dates of young people. George Parker had a massive heart attack in 1996, only months after our delightful visit in La Jolla, CA, when I'd have sworn he'd live to see 100. And I note that Stu Broske has been gone a very long time -- do you know what happened to him? Are any of our teachers still alive? We had some good ones. I wish I knew more about them and their journeys after we went our own ways.

Fred Haeberle
Sounds like everyone had a great time at the reunion. I'm sorry we couldn't it but will try to make the next gathering. The trip to Jamaica sounds wonderful and we would like to participate. Following the reunion, Brooks Drake contacted me and we had a long conversation, catching up on "the days of our lives." I have also emailed a couple of the other classmates, thanks to the website.

Brenda Poling
It was good seeing you at the reunion. Seemed like everyone had a nice time.

Angela Tweel Bullock
You and the reunion committee certainly outdid yourselves this time--this was truly the "mother of all reunions". Thank you and everyone who worked on it--the planning was superb and the memorial service was an appropriate and touching tribute. Again, thanks for a most amazing and memorable week-end.

Jeff & Mary Beth Biederman
Wow! What a wonderful reunion. Since I will be heading the reunion of 63, I have many questions. It was great to see many faces from 1962...You all haven't changed a bit! Jeff and I have enjoyed the website so much. I imagine it took alot of your time. Everyone was singing your praise about ALL you did. Thanks from Jeff and me too!!!

Stef McGann Gardner
Wow! Again I am sending thanks for a great reunion. The sleuthing to discover lost classmates was fantastic. See you sometime before our 45th or 50th!

Gloria Nasser Hulme
Harvey, I think you have done a spendid job of making the reunion a wonderful and memorable event for everyone. I know that many people attended due to your personal encouragement.

LeeAnn Bennett Blankenship
Harvey, just a note to say "Thank You" again. I think they were right when they said the HHS class of '62 has the BEST website in the world!!   The reunion was wonderful. The poem Becky read was right on target when it said the "old" friends are golden. We all appreciate your hard work more than you know.

Larry Tweel
Once again, I'm in your debt! The HEHS Class of '62 had their reunion last weekend and I heard all they talked about was how good OUR reunion was. Have you been approached yet to do the HHS Class of '63's reunion?

Pat Zimmerman
Thanks for all the work you have done to make this the best reunion ever for HHS '62.

Bill Brown
GREAT,GREAT job, buddy. Sandy and I certainly enjoyed ourselves those two nights at the 40th reunion.

Scot Kagan
Harvey,Had a wonderful time ! Thanx for the effort......!

Damon Cooke
Just wanted you to know how much Regina and I appreciate all you have done to make the reunion the "class act" that it was. You have been the primary reason it was such a success and so many of us take for granted how well turned out. But you and others did the bulk of the work and made it truly the "Mother of all Reunions". Also, it was a honor to take part in the Memorial. A lot of people were really impressed with what you, Fuzz, Frank and Donnie put together. I talked for a short time after the ceremony with Stu Edwards and he was obviously touched by what we did. Thanks for a GREAT Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Russell
Well Harvey, what can I say. It was the Mother of all reunions! I enjoyed every minute of the week-end. The really hard part was summoning up the energy to go back up to Huntington the following week-end to attend the HEHS reunion. Once I arrived, my reunion juices kicked in and I started reuniting with my HEHS classmates. We had a really good turn-out, about 150 total. The CD's really do the trick in keeping me focused on what's really important in life, staying young and remembering old friendships. I am looking forward to the reunion pictures. I have a couple of pretty good ones of the Wild, Wildwood bunch. Let's do something sooner than five years. Somebody will come up with a good idea for sure. Thanks again for all of your efforts.
