Uniform
There is a regulation shirt, which can be purchased
from Snogum in Hamilton, Black pants (longs or shorts),
Covered in footwear and a black vest of your choice
to display your cubs hard earned badges on.
Investiture
We like to have new cubs come along for at least
5 nights before we invest them. During this
time they complete an introductory activity book,
so they can learn about cubbing, the history behind
it and the guidelines for becoming a cub. When they
are invested they receive their badges and scarf.
This gives the new cub/s time to get a feel for
the programme and be confident that they want to
become invested. It also allows parents/caregivers
to purchase the shirt.
Supervision
During cubs, all youth present in the hall are
under fulltime supervision by leaders and parent
help. We have rules to ensure your childs
safety whilst they are with us. They are not
allowed to leave the hall until their parent/caregiver
is present at the door or in the hall. Because
this supervision is present, we have to limit the
number
of cubs that we have. Because we have 4 Leaders,
it allows us to have a maximum number of 24 Cubs
giving a ratio of 1:6. This ratio applies
to our outdoor activities also and on
both occasions, there is a female leader present.
