Unbridled Frivolity
Rommel, as I understand it, was a German field marshal who fought for
the Nazis in Africa in WWII. His nickname was the desert fox. Patton
was the only American who could
outwit him in tank strategy. Eventually he killed himself, under too
much pressure from higher-up Nazis. This is a picture of Rommel at age
4. He liked tanks. For his fifth birthday, he indicated to his friend
Lars, 6, that a shiny new Panzer would be just the ticket. Lars was
not able to
deliver for Rommel. Years later, Lars' ancestral mansion was
mysteriously destroyed by an errant shell.
