The Huron High School bathrooms really are in a terrible state. No soap, no paper towels, no locks on the stalls; some of the bathrooms—as Huron students know and the rest of you have doubtless gathered from the article—don't even have doors on the stalls. It's a bit inexplicable, because Ann Arbor isn't exactly the ghetto; we spend more on education per capita than almost any other city in Michigan, have a music program ranked in the top 100 nationally, and produce a ridiculous number of AP students every year. I put together this little satire around the end of 1999 in a (failed) attempt to foster change.
