I painted the (disassembled) mini with a coat of grey primer and then a heavy coat black. I used a medium gray and dry brushed the entire mech. That allowed the black detail to stick out while maintaining a worn look. I also did the cockpit glass in metallic gray. I then decaled, based and sealed it.
