Personal Mission Statement by Jack (Cheng-Heng Hu)
(Eastern Coastline in Taiwan)
Core Value
In an industrial society in Taiwan, I hope to build my core
belief based on the traditional hierarchy value system, which sees public affairs
as the expansive extension from human-environment interaction. My personal core values
include: aesthetics of simple life, spiritual enjoyment in nature, self fulfillment,
civic society and community autonomy, social practices, and contribution to global
environment.
Core Purpose
In my career, I will try my best to enhance soul satisfaction with a simple-life
attitude which is much important to me than material demand. I hope to waste less,
consume less, realize the meaning of my existence and being a human, and enjoy the
peaceful situation in mind. I want to sense the nature with an open mind, and understand
why I exist in an intimate relationship to environment. I seek the progressive advancement
and growth in intellectual rational and real-world work. I also respect the good
will and consciousness of humans. I look forward to the civic reflection in community
to promote the philosophical insight of environmentalism in different ethical groups
and classes. I would like to interact well with peer groups and communicate with
the public in their words. Then we can enrich the human resource, and transfer the
ideal designs into practical social action. I desire to denote my enthusiasm toward
the global planet as my ultimate concern, and try to contribute to the future environment
and generation.
Bold Goal
My bold goal is to activate a grass-root environmental movementreflecting in the
industrialized society of Taiwan, and transfering the civic society’s energy into
a sustainable institutional effort. One day, while gazing at our community and environment,
I hope the mental growth from this conservation effort makes us feel united and coherent.
In the planet’s biosphere, the evolution of the human mind is most creative and exciting
in natural history of the land.
Vision
I believe environmentalism is a feasible dream about human conscience with full devotion
to our mother sense, the earth. I am glad to encourage others' perceptions toward
environmentalism between ethics, classes, financial gap and social status. I expect
this movement is a calm, steady reflecting process, and it will influence the belief
and values of other people coming from diverse backgrounds. I hope I can gradually
initiate this idea revolution, and ultimately, the movement transfers the power from
the charismatic leader of politics above all, to the decentralized autonomous civic
groups and the long-term institutions.
