| Intelligent person's guide to the nuclear history of the Middle East |
Israel According to The Times of London, Israel's 'secret' atomic plant known as Diamona has stockpiled between 200 and 500 nuclear missiles, with ranges of from forty-five to several thousand miles. Israel has also developed a secret gammna ray weapon capable of wiping out the entire population of a major city while leaving its superstructure intact. And Israel has three submarines that can carry cruise missiles and fire them accurately to a range of 950 miles. Israel established its Atomic Energy Commission in 1952. Its first atomic weapon was tested in the Indian Ocean with the help of South Africa's apartheid government in 1979. Its chief facility, Diamona, is in the Negev desert. It is so guarded that an Israeli Mirage fighter that strayed too close was shot down in 1976. Three years ealier a Libyan civilian plane with 104 people on board was shot down by missiles for flying too close. Israel is now the third largest nuclear power in the world after the USA and Russia. It has surpassed Britain, France and China. America still shares its nuclear secrets with Israel. Question: If Israel ever obeys countless UN resolutions and permits the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as first set out in the UN resolution of Partition, No.181 (II) 29 November 1947, will the independent state of Palestine be permitted the same freedom to manufacture nuclear arms? >click on The Islamic lands |
