I wrote this for my friends the Hatton's, who will soon journey half way around the world to pick up their daughter, Caterina. I know they have waited quite a while for this day. I'm so thankful that they finally get to go and get her. Better late than never, huh.
Well, since writing this, they have returned with their daughter. Though the trip, I hear, was eventful, I'm sure they wouldn't have traded it for the world. Welcome Home All.

CATERINA

a soul across the sea
has called out to me
one small voice among the thousands
out there
called upon me to care

what else could I do
I'll tell you

I smiled

my heart raced
when I saw her face
and though we were so many miles
apart
she was mine I knew in my heart

what else could I do
I'll tell you

I smiled

now I barely knew her name
for her it was the same
a picture is truly worth a thousand words
you know
and with each one our love began to grow

so what else could I do
I'll tell you

I smiled

she touched me deep inside
where emotions tend to hide
I'm so thankful that I listened to
that small voice
It was God's choice

what else could I do
I'll tell you

I smiled

I traveled across the sea
and brought her home with me
my precious daughter now and forever
the Lord did deliver

what else could I do
I told you

I smiled
