 Atlantis by Greg Donegan
Atlantis by Greg Donegan

Three areas on the Earth's surface defy explanation: The Bermuda Triangle, the Devil's Sea of Japan, and a small region of Cambodia. Inside these realms, planes have disappeared, ships have vanished, and, in Cambodia, an entire civilization has been lost. Now, the destructive force behind these mysteries has been revealed. They invaded before. Ten thousand years ago. When they destroyed Atlantis. And now they're back.

When a nuclear missile is launched from the waters of the Bermuda Triangle, ex-Green Beret Eric Dane must lead a team into the mysterious depths to confront an enemy which has but one objective--the total annihilation of all life on Earth.

Mr. Donegan has done it again, this book fascinated me from beginning to end. The beauty of this book is that Donegan is giving the reader insight from two different perspectives and from different times. This is an excellent sequel and I do not believe any reader will be disappointed. This book has it all, from military to Norse mythology etc.

They have invaded before. Ten thousand years ago. When they destroyed Atlantis. And they have returned. In the jungles of Cambodia, mankind's ancient enemies waged their first attack. From the depths of the Bermuda Triangle, they tried to launch a global apocalypse. Now, from the bottom of the Devil's Sea, they rise again.

This series is getting better, which is rare. The first book was good. The second was better. This one is great. I like what the last two books have done-- mixing past and present. To be honest, I like the past stories better. Dane is a good character, especially in the first book, but Falco and especially Ragnarok in the second book are superb. I highly recommend this series.
 Atlantis Gate by Greg Donegan
Atlantis Gate by Greg Donegan

It begins with ex-Green Beret Eric Danes's cataclysmic dream-of the earth engulfed in fire more than a quarter of a century ago. Is it a warning of things to come? Or a vision of what once was? And if the world's end came came in 1962, then where in the world are we today? The answer lies in a war beyond time, with an enemy beyond space, in a military thriller beyond your wildest dreams.

A good and exciting novel like its predecessors. The plot is set at different times and places as usual. What I liked best this time is the character of the Spartan King Leonidas who the author developed with care and understanding. Of course, again it is a fight between good and bad, of bad superpowers and "weak" men who can only defend themselves against an anonymous timeless enemy by using extraordinary ingenuity, which makes them stronger than they think they are. On the time level of 480 B.C. this is mirrored by Leonidas' self-denying bravery and the absolute wickedness of Xerxes.
