Today I had the kids write their own hyperboles. For today's post, thought I'd share some of my favorites:
My sister wears so much makeup ...
... she looks like Michael Jackson
... by the time she gets it all put on it's time to take it off again
... it's piled up in so many layers it would take an archeologist to dig down to the bottom
My teacher is so old ...
... her social security number is 1
... I saw her in my history book standing next to Abraham Lincoln
... she went to school with Jesus
... each time she coughs, dust comes out
My dog is so ugly ...
... he makes ME bark
... I had to get a less strong perscription for my glasses
... bones run away and bury themselves when they see him
The town where I grew up is so isolated ...
... the sun couldn't reach it
... the school yearbook is a flyer
... the only time there's a lot of people is when I look in the mirror
My aunt is to fat ...
... she jumped in the air and got stuck
... when she jumps in the ocean they get a Tsunami in India
I am so hungry ...
... I could go Godzilla on Japan
... I could eat a gym uniform
... I would even eat school food
The test was so hard ...
... I copied my teacher's key and still got an F
... my brain almost exploded
... the ink ran because of all the sweat on the page
It was so cold ...
... even the sun was shivering
... even the penguins were wearing coats
It was so hot ...
... even the chili peppers were cold
... even the sun was complaining
... my dog's tongue fell right out of his mouth
Wondering why anyone in their right mind signs up to teach middle school?
Yeah ... this is why.
