Emission nebula NGC346
In the southern constellation of Tucana lies the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), a small companion galaxy to our Milky Way at a distance of 210.000 ly. NGC 346 is a star forming region within SMC and is about 200 ly across. Visible in the image is a young bright star cluster in the centre of the nebula, and another older reddish cluster close by.
