Friday October 22, 12:41 PM Wise to return?
Chelsea entertain Arsenal tomorrow, with it expected that Dennis Wise will return to a starting role in the Chelsea midfield for the big derby game. Wise was a substitute for the midweek European Champions League game , with Jody Morris starting the match in Instanbul against Galatasaray. Meanwhile, it waits to be seen whether Tor Andre Flo will be named in the starting line-up for the visit of Arsenal tomorrow after his brace of goals on Wednesday, or whether Gianluca Vialli will opt for Chris Sutton. Dan Petrescu was another who was rested on Wednesday, and again it waits to be seen whether he will named in the starting line-up on Saturday. Meanwhile, Roberto Di Matteo has been named in the squad after coming through the reserves clash against Arsenal on Wednesday with no problems. The squad for the game is: De Goey, Petrescu, Babayaro, Hogh, LeBoeuf, Desailly, Deschamps, Poyet, Sutton, Wise, Goldbaek, Hitchcock, Le Saux, Di Matteo, Ferrer, Ambrosseti, Flo, Morris, Lambourde, Cudicini, Zola, Terry, Forsell. As for opponents Arsenal, they will be missing two players because of suspension, with both Giles Grimandi and Patrick Vieira serving bans. Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has injury worries over Martin Keown and Nigel Winterburn ahead of the Stamford Bridge clash, while it waits to be seen if he names Emmanuel Petit in his side. The French midfielder made a successful return to action after a knee injury in second string clash. The importance of tomorrow's game cannot be underestimated. As well as it being a London derby, Chelsea need the win if they are to keep the advantage they have as regards games in hand. If the Blues picked up maximum points from the games in hand they would be level on points with Leeds. Meanwhile, though, Arsenal will know that if results go their way they could go top. |
