Tetsu, the leader and bassist of L'Arc en Ciel, comes from a family of five. He has two younger sisters, and two love dogs. At home, everyone calls him Techan, even his sisters never called him brother. Tetsu is actually really shy and quiet, he disliked sports.

Other than music, Tetsu's also crazy about anime and movies, recently he's addicted to Gundam.
Tetsu's style of music is just like his person, full of life and warmth, such as 'snow drop', giving you a feeling of Christmas time.

Like Hyde, Tetsu's hometown is in Osaka, too. He came up with the band's name. As the leader, he's always smiling in cameras, in the band, he's responsible for the Bass and chorus. He also write songs, his music is usually very light and quick, more of a pop style than Ken's, that sometimes they sounds like songs from commercials. Tetsu also wrote the lyric for a few of his songs, such as 'milky way' and 'Perfect Blue'. And by the way, Tetsu's a really, really talented bassist.

Tetsu used to like action figures when he was small, and it seemed he still do even today, especially Gundam. If one knows L'Arc en Ciel well, then he must know that in their early years, Tetsu always wore heavy makeup and bright colored clothes. As his friend recalled, Tetsu's room was full of bright colors, curtain, bedsheets, pillows and of course, clothes, many wondered, is this really a guy's room? Remember once in an interview, he was asked what he wants to be, and Tetsu answered, "a girl". Guess he really do like being pretty.

Tetsu and Hyde's known each other for 15 years, their relationship is so close that no one would be surprised if they had a kid. Tetsu said he's a very outgoing person, always full of energy, and loves his job. But as Hyde'd say, Tetsu is a very serious workaholic.
