So yesterday I shouldn't have been shocked when, walking back from class, he took my hand and murmured: "I love you, Tsukushi." But I was. I had never heard him say my name.

Maybe I'm a little over-analytical. But even later that afternoon at work, the initial shock and fluttering in my chest had long since given way to endless questions. Since I've met Domyouji, he's called me many things, but my given name was never one of them. Why this so out of the blue? What was that boy up to? Yuuki sighed as I mixed up the code numbers on the register for the fifth time that day.

This is getting totally out of hand, I have to keep my mind off of this subject. "Yuuki, I'm going to go outside to take a walk to refresh myself, watch the store?" The sky was bright red, filled with birds flying towards the sunset. Footsteps can be heard from behind. What was that? *looks behind* JUNPEI!?!?!?!

"Makino," he said, extending his hand to me. "It's been a long time¡¦ave you thought of me?" At my shocked lookÍÂnd probably because of the odd choking noises I was makingÍÉe withdrew his hand and looked down sheepishly. "No," he mumbled, mostly to himself, "I guess you wouldn't have¡¦emo¡¦#34; His eyes met mine and he stepped closer to me. "I've missed you, Makino¡¦nd I suppose it wouldn't help if I apologized for everything I did¡¦ould it? Have you forgiven me yet?"

Forgiven him? HIM?!?! It was hard to look at the devil-haired boy in front of me and not conjure up memories of that hellish night. Yet his eyes looked so wistful, so earnest, pleading me to give in to their warmth ::Makino-san, do you need a friend? I will be your friend...::
What happened to that promise? What happened to that innocent boy? It feel like a stone have been suddenly shoved down my throat; wetness forming near my eyes...
"Ju-Ju-Junpei-kun, I...I.." I felt like an idiot stammering in front him but he still looked at me with a kind face.
"Maki-" Junpei's gentle eyes suddenly flared, he looked past me. I could only see the tall shadow of a figure behind me and as I turned around, I couldn't' subdue my overwhelming sense of doom¡¦> > > "Oh my god! It's..."

"Hanazawa Rui?" Relief coursed through my body as I turned to find my ever dependable friend standing behind me.
Thank goodness, I thought it was Domyoji: "What are you doing here? Where are Domyoji, Nishikado-san and Mimisaka-san? Oh, by the way, this is Junpei-kun, I believe you two have met before." I said in an overly friendly voice, trying to divert the tension that was mounting between the two. They stood staring at each other, Junpei's body noticeably tense, as Hanazawa Rui sized him up.
"No I don't think we have met before. Would you excuse us?" Rui emotionlessly as he took my arm and proceeded to lead me away. I let out a huge sigh, relieved that Hanazawa Rui didn't recognize him and that I escaped Junpei's pleading eyes.
My relief was short lived.
"Makino, I need to ask you something. Has Tsukasa......."
I stood there, with a mixture of excitement and
surprise. Shigeru had gone away to live with her
parents again. Surely, I missed her heaps, but I
didn't expect her to return back here so quick.

I trembled from the mixture of the cold and the shock
of the shifting events. Without warning I was yanked
backwards by Junpei-kun! He had been following us and
we hadn't even noticed him. Rui stood in spot suprised
by Junpei's brashness as he forced me to run down the
street from Rui.
"Chotto! Junpei-kun! Hanase!" I yelled at him. but
before I could get anymore words out of my mouth he
pushed me into an alley way. I looked up at him
angrily, but before I could scold him any futher he
pulled close and kissed me full on the lips.
I stood there in awe. I had never seen Rui hit anyone
before. "Hanazawa Rui..."
"Ah," He answered, "About Obasan's plans with Tsukasa..."

His marble eyes shifted sideways for a second and then
he grabbed my shoulders, yanked me towards him, and
crushed his lips on mine. My eyes bugged out and I
shoved him away from me.
"Wh-what the HELL are you doing, Hanazawa Rui!" I
yelled. "Have you gone nuts!"
I shoved him once more. He was cornered against the
brick wall of the alley. Throwing his hands up in
defense, he replied: "Makino, don't get violent. I'm not Tsukasa."
"Exactly! Oh my God, kissed by three boys in one day, two who aren't even my
boyfriend! What am I? Hey! What
are YOU? What in God's name were you thinking,
Hanazawa Rui? What was that?"
"Um...that," he said, those eyes once again shifted
sideways uncomfortably, "That was Obasan's plan."

His eyes widened as I grabbed the front of his shirt in a tight grip and
tugged.
"What?" I demanded in a low voice, right in his face Hanazawa Rui? Going
along with one of that witch's schemes? I suddenly felt like Alice in a
strange, twisted version of Wonderland. And what about...I
turned quickly to see Junpei standing slowly, his hand
over his bleeding nose, watching us warily. He pulled
something from his pocket and unfolded it slowly, as I
stood, still holding Rui's shirt with one hand. He
finally handed it to me and I stared at it, wanting to
fall over from shock.
"Where did you _get_ this?!" I cried in dismay.

In Junpei-kun's hand was a photo of a young Rui, with
his beloved teddy bear. Rui blushed furiously and
sweatdropped. "You see... that was one of the reasons
why I had to hit him. After Tsukasa broke my teddy
bear, I've always treasured this photo, but..."
"Well, Hanazawa-san, you just wouldn't stop to listen
to what I was trying to say to you, so I had to do
something in order for you to listen a little...."
I have a feeling I'm not supposed to be here, I begin
to edge away slowly. Junpei-kun notices. "Makino-san,
you stay here, I want you to listen to this too..."
Oribe Junpei carries on, "Listen, I'm in love with
Makino-san, I want you to deliver this message to Domyouji-san."

"The message that I want you to give him," Junpei
continued, looking Hanazawa Rui straight in the eyes,
while I managed to shove myself behind Rui, "is
simple. Tell him that I am sorry for what I did in the
past. I know," he added when Rui arched his eyebrows,
"that just saying I'm sorry isn't enough. It wasn't
enough last time. But I also want you to tell him that
I love Makino¡¦nd that I'm willing to do anything to
be with her. I¡¦#34; He would've continued, but a new voice stopped him,
scaring me.
"What's this?" the voice said, amused. "Another boy
for you, Tsukushi? And to think I left Doumyouji for
you, and now you've got this other super-hot boy!"
My jaw dropped as I turned around, facing the
still-impish face of Shigeru. "Shi¡¦higeru-san!" I
exclaimed, hugging her. "You're here already? How did
you find me here? He is not hot! He is evil! He nearly
caused Doumyouji to die!"

"Ah, but what a kakkoii specimen," Shigeru winked at me as she
continued the friendly embrace. "Still, he's not half as attractive
as the specimen I have just captured."
"Eh?" I turned my head to face fully Shigeru, surprised. There was
something in her voice that frightened me, and as I continue to
stare at her, Shigeru put on one of her most michievious smiles.
"Tsu-ku-shi." Shigeru's arms tightened around me as she pulled
closer.
"You know, I've always wanted to do this." Shigeru inched
forward and suddenly my view was blocked by a very naughty-looking monkey
face.
Ack! This cannot be happening to me! I've already been kissed
by two jerks (what happened to you, Hanazawa Rui?) and
now....Shigeru- san? I was just about to let out a big, "Kyaaaaahhhh!!!!"
when Shigeru stopped abruptly, her head slightly angled, tilting towards
mine. Any onlooker would have definitely thought we were kissing and from
the small gasps I heard, I knew that Hanazawa Rui and Junpei-kun had already
come to that conclusion.
I could feel her breath on my lips as she whispered, her words segmented
with short intakes of air.
"Tsukushi, please don't panic."
"Kaede's on to you and-"
"She'll let nothing get in her way-"
"Including you."
"And Tsukushi..." Shigeru brushed her check against mine, and
her last words burned hot in my ear.
"Your life is in danger."
******* "Domyoji." Suddenly, everything that had just happened
seemed unimportant in the light of this new revelation.
The dizzy feeling intensified, as my knees began to shake, and
the world began to spin.
Shigeru tightened her hold on my waist, keeping me from falling
to the ground, and eliciting more shocked gasps from Junpei and Rui.
"Tsukushi, listen, we need to get out of here. Look around you,
we are surrounded." Shigeru whispered nervously. As I gazed over her
shoulder, sure enough, black suited men could be seen all around us,
watching and waiting for our next move. Why hadn't I noticed this
before?
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, one of the men started to pull
something out of his jacket.
Terrified that my life was about to end, I did the only thing I
could think of to distract them.
I kissed her.

Everyone gasped.
I pulled away from Shigeru - seeing her shocked expression as she
locked her eyes with mine.
I stumbled, surprised and taken aback from what I just did.
"G-Gomen.....," I managed to choke out pathetically - my eyes
darting back and forth between Shigeru and everyone else - whose mouths
were gaping widely.
There was an awkward silence.
Suddenly, from the corner of my eye, I saw the black-suited guys
walking towards me.
I took a few steps back, only to see that they had cornered me
against a brick wall.
"W-What are you doing?" I muttered, feeling so small compared
to the bulky and broad men. My lips felt dry with fear.
I looked at Shigeru for help - but saw that the girl was held back
by
two men. Junpei and Rui were also blocked from my view.
"Makino Tsukushi, don't make this difficult. It will be swift and
painless if you abide by what we say." The big guy at the front
said, his face stern as he reached his hand into his coat pocket again.
I closed my eyes, my body filled with fear and my legs unable to
move.
"Please...god...no..." I begged, feeling completely hopeless and helpless at
the same time.
Then suddenly, one of the guys turned around, "M-m-master..." he
stuttered, his voice shaky.
I opened my eyes. My mouth dropped open when I saw who was standing
right in front of me, "....Doumyouji..."

I unconsciously stepped back. Had Doumyoji seen what Shigeru had
done? My mind had been jerked around so many times in the past half
hour I couldn't take it anymore. I fainted.
***************************hours later*******************************
"Hey get up." A deep voice ordered firmly, but gently.
Ahre? What's this? A bed? My level of fear rose. Where am I?
"Makino!"My eyes opened, I screamed.
Doumyoji jolted back and placed his hands over his ears. "Aahh,
you, urusai!"
"Well, you were right in my face, you idiot! You scared me have to
death! I thought, I thought...."I stuttered.
I thought it had been one of Kaede's men. "What happened?"
"You passed out. I beat those guys, picked you up, and ran. Here
have some water." He stated nonchalantly.
"Thanks." I drank the water, hoping vainly that there was an
everlasting supply so I wouldn't have to talk to Doumyoji...but I
just had to know.
"Ano, Doumyoji? Did you see," my face burned, "did you happened to
see Shigeru-"
"Oh yeah. I heard she was back." He interrupted me.
I fell of the bed. Waahhhh! That guy didn't even let me finish!
"Baka. I wasn't even done talki-"
Doumyoji leaned in and kissed me.
"Hey." I pushed him away, "I'm done talking."
He grabbed me and placed his lips upon mine once again. Well, at
least I was kissing my own boyfriend I thought as I relaxed into his
embrace. I began to giggle at that thought.
"That feels so weird." Doumyoji said in between our kisses. "Stop
laughing."
He let me go, and sat down next to me. My face was red from our
little make out session. After all this time, I still couldn't stop
turning red from his affection.
"Makino, I need to ask you something. It's kind of important."
Doumyoji face reddened and he cleared his throat.
"Tsukushi..."

GAH! He had seen me kiss her! SHIMATE! In my shock, I dropped the water
glass. It smashed on the hardwood floor below the bed with the sound of a
million tinkling bells. My face was burning. Would he be jealous, would
Shigeru-san be in danger of her life?
MOU! How embarssing, and there he
was, staring at me, and looking...*snicker* so...*giggle*...serious???
Doumyoji raised a hand past his serious face to transform. When he was
done, he burst out laughing. Unlike usually though, his boyish smile didn't
steal my heart...
"Your face!" Doumyoji, "You look like you swallowed something disgusting..
like your mother's poor people cooking!"
"Teme!" I swung at him with a pillow, smacking him squarely on the side of
the head. Doumyoji grapped another pillow, and it became war. Before long,
my ears were ringing from his harsh blows. I collasped on the bed in
exhaustion. Doumyoji threw his pillow off into the corner of the room.
Then, he laid down, using my stomach for a pillow...
"Doumyoji.." I said gently. Unable to resist, i reached out and pulled on
one of his locks of hair. It was like a spring, wanting to curl back on
itself.
"Orewa Tsukasa..my name is Tsukasa, Tsukushi. If you are going to risk your
life to be with me, you should at least use my given name...."

roll with disgust. Struggling, I brought my arms

"My life is in danger?" I gasped into Shigeru's ear, her short
hair tickling my cheek. "Domyoji's mother wants to kill me?" The
familiar lightheaded feeling that was all too common in my life flooded my
senses.
