RETURN OF BILLIONAIRE TED? Updated: 12/11/2001 6:20:10 PM In a story posted at EMOnline.com the incoming CEO of AOL Time Warner Richard Parsons says he wants Ted Turner to return as Vice Chairman. Parsons says in the story, "He knows more, particularly about the television space, which is at least a good third of this company. Ted and I have always had a wonderful relationship, and I am going to be reaching out to him, too." If Turner returns and is given authority over the television divisions again, it will be interesting to see how he responds to people like Jamie Kellner, who took over as chairman and CEO of Turner Broadcasting. Turner is known to have been livid over Kellner's handling of the cancellation of WCW programming earlier this year. With Turner back in a position of power, speculation will run rampant about a return of wrestling to TBS & TNT. Turner has often been quoted as crediting wrestling as being the catalyst for the launch of his media empire.
