WCW Big Names Update

The following is an update on former big name WCW stars and their chances of arriving in the WWF:

-- Kevin Nash has apparently regrouped and come up with a new deal to present to WWF officials. This deal states he would work three months at a full WWF schedule, and then take off a few months before returning for another set of three months with a full WWF schedule. He is consistant on not wanting to work more than 180 days per year, which will probably disinterest the WWF in acquiring his services. It is doubtful the WWF would go for such a deal because of storylines being centered around Nash couldn't play out even remotely long-term due to his deal giving him a three month work period followed by months off.

-- The general feeling is that if the WWF cannot reach an agreement with Kevin Nash, they will not even attempt to go after Scott Hall. They feel the two would be better used as a tag-team, and that Scott Hall does not have enough pull on his own to make the impact needed for the amount of money and small work-time he is requesting.

-- The WWF has interest in signing Goldberg, but will not even consider buying out his lucrative Time Warner/AOL exsisting contract. They also have no intentions of paying Goldberg the high amount of money he is requesting. Goldberg as well has little to no interest in signing with the WWF and considers it to be more of a positive for the WWF to sign him, than a positive for himself signing. He would be perfectly content with working other projects and deals. It wouldn't phase him to ever wrestle again.

-- The WWF has had off-and-on small conversations with Sting about joining their company, but most have fell short. Sting is not really interested in wrestling anymore. Therefore it would take one incredible offer on the WWF's part to acquire him, and they have nothing that big to offer at this time. Sting also has a lot of non-wrestling projects scheduled that would interfere with working a full-time WWF schedule.

-- As of this point there have still been no conversations with Hulk Hogan about signing with the WWF. Rumors have circulated claiming Hogan would likely appear at WrestleMania for a one-time appearance, but that is merely speculation. Hulk Hogan doesn't have much interest in returning to pro wrestling as he considers himself unofficially retired. We may see him in a small program with the WWF if the WWF feels they could use him and make the right offer to him, or we could see him work a small program with the XWF once again.

-- The WWF is still considering Scott Steiner to be their most coveted free agent right now. They have been in contact with Scott Steiner a lot lately and the general consensus is Steiner will be under contract with the WWF in the early goings of 2002. The only thing stopping Steiner from signing now is the inability to work a full schedule due to a foot injury that seems to never go away.
