(April 1, 2002)  CREW INFO
For people who are interested in the technical and crew detail for Bulletproof Monk, info has come in about the cinematographer and film editor for the movie.  An official press release from MGM about the production of Bulletproof Monk (which appeared on Comics2Film) lists Robert Lambert as Film Editor for Bulletproof Monk.  He has previously worked on Rush Hour 2, Red Planet, Three Kings and Blue Chips.  It also lists Stefan Czapsky as Cinematographer and Deborah Evans is the production designer.  Stefan Czapsky is known for his cinematography for Wild Wild West, Batman Returns and Edward Scissorhands.  The press release also gives the following synopsis of the movie:

"Chow Yun-Fat plays a mysterious monk with no name zigzagging the globe to protect an ancient scroll -- a scroll that holds the key to unlimited power. Now the monk must find a protégé, the next guardian of the Scroll of the Ultimate.  Kar (Seann William Scott) is an unlikely candidate, a streetwise young man whose only interest is himself, but when he saves the Bulletproof Monk from capture, the two become partners in a scheme to save the world from the scroll's most avid pursuer. Together, with the help of a sexy Russian mafia princess called Bad Girl (James King), they seek out, find and face the ultimate enemy in a final spectacular battle packed with dazzling effects and action."

(March 29, 2002)  * EXCLUSIVE ON-SET REPORT (PARKWOOD ESTATES) * | ON-SET REPORT (BLOOR STATION)
Just a few days after scoring exclusive on-set pictures from Bulletproof Monk, we've been sent an exclusive on-set report from someone who was at Parkwood Estates (in Oshawa, Ontario; 30 min. from Toronto) where Bulletproof Monk is currently shooting.  Here is what Dee has to say about the shoot (she is referring to the night of March 27):

"I was on set last night and I had the opportunity to meet both Seann and Chow Yun Fat. James King wasn't there, unfortunately, but I was only there to see Seann. :) They started shooting at 8 p.m. last night. I felt bad for the actors because it's so cold out and they're both wearing very thin jackets for that scene. The scene they were doing last night involved a fake gate they had set up to make it look like the front gates of the mansion. They even put up fake security cameras, because in that scene, they are breaking into a house. I don't know if this info will be useful. One more thing I found quite funny. When I met Seann, he was very nice and polite (quite serious actually) and he had walked from his trailer to the set (which is only about a 1 minute walk at the most). They also have 3 rooms they are shooting in in the house itself. One, the monk's study I believe.....they had chairs and couches made expressly for this movie. Each chair cost 8000$ (there are 2) and the couch cost 14,000$. The marble table in front of it, 7,000$. As well as one bedroom where they have brought in a python and a taranrula. Now you know where they're spending all of their money. They've even got police officers stopping traffic outside while they shoot a scene so you won't hear cars in the background."
(thanks to Dee for the info!)

Another set report comes from the Coming Attractions site.  The Prankster was an extra for the Bloor Subway Station shoot last week:

"We shot all night, scenes involving Sean William Scott performing feats of daring-do as a plainclothes cop (I think). At one point he subdued a pickpocket with the words, 'You picked the wrong pocket to pick!' (Umm...it might work a little better in context...) Then he handcuffed him to a rail. Another scene had him racing after a baddie alongside a speeding subway, while out-of-breath cops raced after him. Another bit had a steadi-cam tracking alongside him as he exchanged briefcases with a stranger (it was hard to be sure, I was pretty far away). Not that exciting, which is why I didn't write in. Chow Yun-Fat did show up, but I didn't see them filming with him...I got the impression, rather, that he was just stopping by to say hi. Movie looks like fairly typical action stuff, but who knows from this small dose."
(thanks to Coming Attractions & The Prankster for the info)
