(July 11, 2002) SET
REPORT AT DARKHORIZONS.COM
A set report from Bulletproof Monk from 'Everett' was posted on
darkhorizons.com
last Friday:
"I was walking down the street in downtown Toronto and accidentally walked right through the shot. I didn't even realize it until after because there were so many extras walking along the sidewalk that I just fit right in. But I stopped walking when I noticed the camera, and afterwards some dude came over and said you have to move to the side were filming right now. It would be so cool if they use the shot that I'm in, that would be so bizarre! So then there was this Asian guy I started talking to (who I thought was with the crew) but I asked him about the film and all he kept saying was "Yes" and smiling. I'd ask what they were filming and he'd say "Yes". I figured he didn't speak English, so I asked this other guy about the film and he told me the title and that Chow Yun Fat and Sean William Scott were in it. I said "Cool, is it a large budget film?". He replied that it was huge because John Woo is producing it, funding it, or both -- I can't remember which he said. So after the shot was done I see Chow Yun Fat get escorted to this big black Suburban and that Asian guy I was talking to was with him, so I figured out it must be one of his bodyguards or friends because the guy was pretty muscular. That's when it all made sense.
Sean stayed behind afterwards to sign autographs and take pictures with people. It was unreal how many teenage girls were there going all "ga-ga" for him -- they just surrounded him after they were done shooting. It was pretty funny, he's seems like a cool guy in person too. Anyways, it was a very brief scene and hard to see, but I think Sean, Chow and some other people were talking on the street and then they all run off in opposite directions. Apparently from what the crew guy was saying I missed the cool scene they filmed there the day before because they blew up a bunch of sh*t and there was a lot of pyrotechnics."

BULLETPROOF MONK TRADE PAPERBACK DELAYED UNTIL JULY
Apparently the trade paperback re-release of Bulletproof Monk
has been delayed until July 2002. It was originally scheduled for a
May 2002 release. The trade paperback will include all three parts
of the original comic book in one book, with special added material such
as a new introduction by John Woo (producer of the upcoming Bulletproof
Monk movie).

NEW FOOTAGE AND TEASER IMAGES SHOWN AT A LICENSING TRADE SHOW IN NEW YORK
CITY
Two great pieces of information have popped up online recently,
both from the Licensing Show which was in New York City on June
11-13, 2002. MGM's booth presented footage on their upcoming movies,
which included Bulletproof Monk:
Dark
Horizons has obtained artwork, including teaser images from the movie
and what might be the official title lettering for Bulletproof Monk:

Aint-It-Cool-News.com
has also obtained information on Bulletproof Monk. Apparently, the
MGM booth at the Licensing Show had video footage from its upcoming
movies, and showed extensive clips from Bulletproof Monk. The June
13 posting on the movie website has a very detailed description of the
footage from a guy who was there last week. Ralphie Dexter
describes the footage not quite like a trailer, but more like a clips reel,
and also had footage set to "Paradise City" by Guns 'N'
Roses. The footage includes scenes that have already been described
and posted online in the past few months, including the Chow Yun Fat/Seann
William Scott training scene, Seann William Scott running through the
subway station, and the helicopter scene (but in much more detail).
New scenes include one involving a ceremony at a Tibetan monastery, Jamie
King partying in a subway car, and a Matrix-like scene with Chow Yun Fat
watching in slow-mo as a bullet shoots past him. Click
