What makes the HyperGlow LED System Better Than the Others?
It was recently brought to our attention that we may have been misleading all of you with our description of Neon products. We don't want to do that so we'll describe to you what we're talking about here. There are two types of Neon.
The first is real, gas based neon. This is what you see in beer signs at local bars etc. These lights glow due to a charged gas inside the tube. These are the lights that will start to blink over time or due to one taking a hit from something. Real neons are very fragile (how many bars have you been in where one of the neons is blinking? They're on a stationary wall...not a moving vehicle). I didn't include real neon in my original comparison because I couldn't believe anyone would use real, gas based neon as accent lighting, it just doesn't make sense.
Then there's what we call Store Neon. These are the accent lights you find in Wal-Mart, Auto-Zone etc. These are not real neon...they're filament based lights that shine through a tinted globe or tube. These are the lights that heat up (that's how filament based lights glow, through a superheated filament). These store neons have a life of just over 2000 hours. From time to time we get emails from neon dealers accusing us of not being truthful. Neon dealers are starting to see the writing on the wall folks. Soon neon accent lighting will rank right up there will BetaMax, Tandy Computers and the Edsel. These are the facts...
HyperGlow
vs
Store Neon and
Traditional Neon
(Glowjobs, Plasma Glow etc)
This is a no brainer. LED technology is leaving store and traditional neon in the dust. Here are a few comparisons:
Unbreakable, no filaments to come loose during even the most intense vibration. Store Neons are filament based lights so they can break. Real neons can start to blink or break. HyperGlows will not break, come loose or ever blink...EVER. You can slam them on the wall repeatedly and they won't break or stop glowing. They can't.
Small and discrete; only 5mm. Mount these lights in places where all you'll see is the glow. Neon sticks (no matter which kind) are big and cumbersome to install and impossible to hide.
HYPERGLOW systems will work on any 9-14v power system without any outside power conversion. Some neon kits require power conversion to work.
Here's the deal breaker...HyperGlow LEDs have a Lifetime Guarantee. Ask your local Neon dealer, Walmart or any other LED dealer for that!!
HyperGlow
vs
Other LED Products
(Kuryakyn LED Spider Lights, Boogey Lights
etc)
HyperGlow's unique take on the mounting of the lights leaves all other LED systems in the dust
First off, all other LED systems are encased in either a 3-light pod or a stick of 10. This severely limits the light coverage you can achieve. The diagram below show a 3 light pod. Spider lights and Boogey lights come this way. But as you can see the you're stuck with the light pointing in just 3 directions. You may think that this looks like good coverage and it would be if your vehicle was in a 2 dimensional world. I hate to get all "Star Trek" on you here but think about it; we live in a 3 dimensional world and 120 degrees of coverage doesn't cut it. Plus, these focus angles are dictated by where you can find room on the vehicle to mount these in the first place. You must find a flush surface to mount and even then you can focus the lights where you really want or need them to be effective. So you get a pod of 3 for $30-$40 dollars....whoopee. You could've gotten a 20 light HyperGlow kit for that.
Other LED systems come encased in tubes. You'll see them advertised as "10 LED tube". Well as you can see below now you're getting light in just one direction, again dictated by where you can fit the tube on the vehicle.
With the HyperGlow System you get individual lights. Small enough to mount anywhere (only 5mm) and you can point the light to shine where you want it.
