What are your qualifications?

I was trained in NLP by the best there is: Richard Bandler, John LaValle, Rex Sikes, and Joseph Riggio. I was trained in Hypnosis by top experts: Allen Chips, Richard Bandler, Will MacDonald, Michael Breen, John LaValle, and Joseph Riggio. I have advanced training with Steven Gilligan in self relations psychotherapy.

I am a Master Practitioner of NLP and a licensed trainer of NLP through the Society of NLP.

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the American Institute of Hypnotherapy in California.

I have been practicing NLP and Hypnotherapy since 1996. In the years since that time I have hypnotized hundreds of people and been able to help them reach their goals. This is very satisfying and exciting.

I am a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the American Board of Hypnotherapy, and the Society of NLP.

Can I be hypnotized?

YES

Allright, this is a question that many people have thought about even after the second or third time they actually found themselves making changes easily. Everyone CAN be hypnotized and they do it naturally every day. We call it daydreaming, your mind was wandering, you were busy thinking, and so many other states of mind. Hypnosis is merely a special state of mind that makes things easier.

Some people are too SCARED, DON'T UNDERSTAND or simply DO NOT WANT to be hypnotized in order to get rid of their problems.

What is NLP?

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming - it is a an approach to change that was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. The motivational speaker Tony Robbins work in empowering people is based on the tools of NLP. There are lots of details involved in NLP.

One of the most famous NLP miracles is the Fast Phobia Cure. People with debilitating fears can get over them in as little as ten minutes. How amazing is that? By finding out how a person thinks and by using that to help them change, you can make changes happen FAST.

NLP has to do with using all of your senses and your sensibilities to enlarge and increase your ability to see beyond the limits of your own experience. The idea, in a nutshell, is that people are methodical, there is a structure to their behavior, people are in charge of making themselves feel the way that they do. So, it is a matter of discovering how they do this and using it to help them do something different.

NLP is used in education, business, sports, mental health, personal empowerment, relationships, and wherever people want to expand the limits of their own thinking into new and more exciting places.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a focused state of attention that allows you to access and change the automatic programs that run your brain. It feels a lot like a wonderful daydream and most people find it very relaxing. There is no magic or mind control other than the magic of your own mind finally taking control of your habits, beliefs and behaviors. Hypnosis allows you to recognize the direct and indirect ways that cigarettes used to be in control. Hypnosis allows you to take charge and run your own brain in a new way. How long will it take?

The great thing about change of any sort is that it happens fast. The BAD NEWS is that sometimes the preparations for the change take some time to sink in. The GOOD NEWS is that we are no longer in the old days of psycho-analysis which required many dozens of sessions over many months and years. Modern hypnosis and NLP have shortened the time.

Answering this question takes a combination of the skill of the therapist, the readiness for the change, and the level of the problem at hand. The first level answer is this:

In order to be most effective it will probably take at least two sessions spaced a week apart.

Everyone is unique and predictions are only good on average but here are typical numbers for some common issues:

  • Weight loss will require a session every one or two weeks throughout the weight loss period
  • Stop smoking will require from 1 to 3 sessions
  • Issues of identity require a range from 1 to many sessions
  • Fears and phobias will require 1 to 3 sessions
  • Eating disorders will require 3 or more sessions
  • Anxiety and worry will require 1 to many sessions
  • Relationship issues will require 1 to many sessions
  • Behavioral issues will require 2 or more sessions
  • Counseling and Coaching can be ongoing processes
