NO blocks, NO snacks 8:50 - 9:00 Clean Up & Morning Chat. At this time you can read a short story, or just chat with the children as we wait for the other classes to meet us in the hall. 9:00 - 9:10 Pledge, Prayer, & Song in the hall with the school. 9:10 - 9:30 Circle Time CALENDAR Sing the days of the week, Ask what is today?, The Leader for the Day (not Bradley, if his name is still up on the board, you can choose someone else, the chart is beside the calendar on the wall. If there is a smiley face beside the name, they have already had a turn, choose someone else) counts the apples and tells us the number of the day. He/she puts the number up. The numbers are in the tote on my desk. The tape is in the Art Gallery on the shelf. The Leader also does the weather. We briefly review our class rules found on the board beside the ‘bees’. REVIEW THE ALPHABET Sing the Alphabet song. Try lining the children up in alphabetical order by their names. Ask “Do we have anyone here who’s name begins with an “A” OK! Angela, You come over here to stand. “Now do we have someone who’s name begins with a “B”? and so on….. REVIEW THE BOOK ‘CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM’ Play the tape that is in the tape player. I think you will need to rewind it first, and Marie knows how to work it. J ANNOUNCE THAT THEY CAN USE THE ALPHABET STAMPS & THE REST OF THE ALPHA-BITS (cereal found in blue plastic tub in snack area) TO CREATE A FUN PICTURE IN THE ART GALLERY. The children can use the stamps to stamp their names or random letters, and then they can glue the cereal on the paper along with the stamping. 9:30 - 10:15 They can go to any center. Since I am gone today, you can dismiss them to any center they want to go to. 10:15 - 10:20 Clean up 10:20 - 10:50 Outside Fun 10:50 - 11:00 Bathrooms Ring bell and take children to bathrooms for washing hands & ‘Potty’ 11:00 - 11:15 Introduce Nursery Rhyme: ONE TWO BUCKLE MY SHOE. This should be in the Big Book on the Book Stand in the area with the red carpet. Call the children to this area and read the rhyme to them first and then they can repeat it with you the second. 11:15 - 11:45 Lunch Children line up (however you want them to) and they get their own lunch box and walk to the tables. You can lead them in a prayer or ask for a volunteer. 11:45 - 12:00 Free Choice 12:00 - 12:15 Story time. You can choose a couple or three books to read. The parents begin to arrive around 12:05.
