TROT Game Rules
These rules must be followed at all times. If you think one of these rules is unfair, check out the TROT Player's Committee and tell them about it.

Punishments for Breaking a Rule
- A person may own one barn or mini barn, and 3 associations/businesses. If you feel you can have more, you must e-mail the Player's Committee for approval!
- All game pages must say "This Page Is Part Of A Game Called TROT" or something like that near the TOP of the page.
- All game pages MUST provide a link to TROT on the main page, and preferably every page.
- You may play in other games, as long as you:
1. Stay active in TROT;
2. Do not link TROT pages to other games or pages in other games;
3. Do not advertise TROT events to other games;
4. Have separate pages for TROT and the other games;
5. Do not restrict someone from participationg in a TROT stable, business, or association because they are not members of other games;
6. Do not allow players in other games to enter TROT shows unless they are players in TROT
I have the right to ask you to leave TROT or other games if you do not follow those rules!
- If you "dissappear" from TROT without any notice for more than 2 months, you will be removed from the game! (*If you give notice to someone in TROT, you will not be removed)
- Horses may not have the same name. Check the Name Association before naming any horses. If a horse has the same name as another horse, change the name, add barn initials or change the spelling.
- Race horses may not compete in any other discipline while they race besides halter/in hand. No horses may race before the age of two, although the retirement age is up to you. Please be realistic though, most racehorses retire around 5 or 6, and *very* few race into their teens! *Racing includes Flat Racing, Harness Racing, and Steeplechasing!*
- Associations must hold shows at least once every 2-3 months, unless there is a *good* reason why you can't! If you have a reason, e-mail the Player's Committee, otherwise you must hold a show or find someone to host it for you!
- To start a new business or association, first announce it in the digest and then e-mail Sam to reserve it. If the association you want is already reserved, you may ask the person it is reserved for to co-own it. (Co-owners are not required, but they are very helpful and definitley reccomended!)
- Associations must be up within a month after you reserve them! If for some reason you cannot get the page up within a month, e-mail the Player's Committee for approval.
- You must apply for a barn. If you are a boarder, you must have been in the game for at least 2 months. If you were in a past game, e-mail me about it. Barns are first come, first serve.
- If your barn/association was previously in another game, you MUST update it to TROT before it will be added! This includes changing the horse's awards/approvals to say they're from another game, putting "This Page Is Part Of A Game Called TROT" on ALL the pages, and providing a link to TROT on the main page! All of the rules listed on this page must be followed before it will be added!
- The limit of barns and associations is at the discretion of Sam.
- Any awards or show records from other games can be carried into TROT, although you must *always* say *From Another Game* when referring to those results. That includes when applying for approvals, advertising horses for sale or stallions for stud, and on your own pages. If you fail to do this, I will not allow any awards from other games to be carried into TROT!
- If your horse was from another game, and it has an approval or something on it's name, it *must* be removed from the name when the horse enters TROT. You may, however, list it with other game awards, as long as you state which game it was from. This includes any approvals the sire or dam won either, they CANNOT be listed unless the awards are from TROT!
- Please be reasonable with how many horses you own. You may own any amount, but if you own over 40 it is very hard to show them all, register them, and take care of them properly. You may even forget you own some!
- If you are in an association, follow all of their rules! If you are a boarder/worker at a barn, follow it's rules too!
- NO SENDING CHAIN LETTERS!!!! If you are found to be sending a chain letter to a TROT player or anyone else, I have the right to kick you out of TROT immediatley. If someone in TROT has send you a chain letter, DO NOT FORWARD IT TO ANYONE ELSE. Forward a copy to me, and include the person's name (if known) and e-mail address. Also include the persons barn they own or board at, and any associations they own or co-own if you know.
- You may only board at one barn. You must board all of your horses at one barn, with the following exceptions: your horse is in training in another barn, you co-own a horse with someone and it is kept at his/her barn (or the barn that he/she boards at), or your horse is leased to someone at another barn. Otherwise, all of your horses must be boarded st the same stable!
- All TROT players may subscribe to the digest, even boarders. However, boarders (unless they own a mini-barn) may not post directly to the digest.
- All posts must have your name, association name, or barn name somewhere in your subject line.
Examples- TROT Quarter Horse Assoc. News;
TROT New Barn by Sam;
TROT Show at PGEC
- Only brief sales/new horses/foals annoucements are allowed in the digest. Must be less than 3 sentences/lines per horse.
- The digests are for game play only. You may have up to 6 sentences of real life in each post.
- Barn owners are allowed as many posts in the digest as they need. However, if you post excessively, you will be limited to one a day. Mini-barn owners may post once a day, and boarders may only post through their barn owners up to once a day.
- Do not announce results of a show in the digest. You may announce that they are done and where to find them though.
- Do not post your classlists in the digest. You may annouce shows though, and say where to find a classlist *after it has been approved by the events webster*.
- Posts must be directed to all of TROT. If you cannot contact someone, you may post in the digest requesting they e-mail you. All other posts must be for all of TROT though, if you need to contact someone please e-mail them, don't post it in the digest!
- DO NOT use innapropriate language in the digest, make fun of anyone in it, ect.! Please be respectful to all players at all times!
1st Offense- Warning, possibly suspension from TROT for 1-7 days*
2nd Offense- Suspension from TROT for 1-2 weeks*
3rd Offense- Suspension from TROT for 1 month*
4th Offense- Kicked out of TROT*
*depending on the rule, punishments *do not* have to be followed in order.
Example- if someone makes 2 posts in the digest, and it is their second offense, they may only be suspended for 3 days. But if someone is found to be sending chain letters, they could be suspended for 2 weeks to a month, even if it is their first offense. (Those are not the actual times I may suspend someone for those reasons, it was just an example!!!)
