A Little Piece of Heaven

The Boeing 757 flight, from Orlando to Los Angeles, was approaching Denver for a scheduled stop, when the plane hit a bit of turbulence. Allison, who was very uncomfortable with flying, instinctively took hold of the hand that was lovingly placed on her knee. With a gentle squeeze of her hand and a soft sweet smile on the face of he man she loved, her fears disappeared. Replacing those fears were feelings of safety, joy and utter blissful love. The kind of love she never thought possible. It was the stuff that dreams were made of, a little piece of heaven right here on earth, the kind of love you only saw in movies, but always wished you had for yourself.

Allison knew of Brian’s fear of heights and of flying, but his protective nature towards his one true love was all he needed to conquer his biggest fears. Leaning over, Brian placed the sweetest of kisses on her neck. She looked at him with such intense love and gratitude, then laid her head upon his shoulder and snuggled in as close as she could in preparation for landing.

Once the plane had landed and was docked, the stewardess announced: “All passengers bound for Denver International Airport, may now depart the aircraft.” Unbuckling his seatbelt, Brian rose to his feet. “That’s us Baby.” A befuddled Allison looked questioningly at Brian. “What do you mean ‘That’s us...’? I thought we were going home?” Her words pleading for answers. “We will, but not just yet. First I’d like to take my best girl on a little relaxing getaway. How does that sound?” Releasing herself from the confines of the seatbelt Allison flung herself into Brian’s waiting arms. “Oh Brian! That sounds wonderful!” She sighed at the thought of spending some much desired ‘alone time’ with this man that she loved, who always set her heart aflutter.

Grabbing their carry-on bags and taking hold of Allison’s hand, lacing his fingers with hers, Brian led her out of the plane through the airport to the terminal where they would catch a connecting flight to Telluride.

“Brian? Another plane?” Her nervousness evident to Brian. “Where are we going?” Brian took hold of her hand and began to caress the back of it with his thumb as he cupped her face in his other hand. “Patience my love. All will be revealed shortly. This flight will be pretty quick compared to the last one. I want as much time with you alone as possible, so instead of the seven hour drive we would have to take from here, I decided a connecting flight would be best.” Lovingly kissing her nose then resting his forehead against hers, he whispered a few soothing words to calm her. They were interrupted by the boarding call over the PA system. “Flight 6465 from Denver to Telluride is now boarding, please have your tickets ready.”

“Telluride? Is that where we are going?” A smile pulled at Allison’s lips as a piece to the puzzle fell into place. Brian only returned the smile, but said nothing. Reaching for her carry-on which was placed on the floor beside them, Allison was halted as Brian took the bag from her. “Here, let me carry that for you.” “Thank you Brian.” Brian’s hand slipped from her hand and slid around her back to lead her to the gate.

Thankfully this flight was very smooth and uneventful. They exited the plane, collected all of their luggage and stopped off at the car rental station to picked up a very luxurious silver BMW. Just before leaving the airport Brian stopped, opened up one of his suitcases and pulled out a coat for Allison. He was prepared for the cold October weather they would be facing. Slipping her arms in the sleeves she pulled the collar up snug to her cheeks, while thoughts roamed her mind of how wonderful this man was. Not only had he planned this trip for the two of them, but he always remembers the little things. Allison buttoned up her coat as Brian pulled one out for himself as well. Closing the suitcase, they finally left the airport and was on their way to Telluride Ski Resort.

They drove up to a golf course and Allison got this strange look on her face. She knew Brian loved golfing, and while she didn’t mind playing with him she didn’t really like the sport very much. Thoughts of them playing golf during their vacation did not seem to be exactly what she had in mind, but she didn’t want to say anything. Peaking out of the corner of his eye, Brian gazed over at Allison, seeing her grimace about the golf course, he could barely keep from laughing. He knew what was going through her mind, but was sure she would be pleasantly surprised.

As they approached a home that sat just off the fairway of the Tenth hole, Allison’s eyes lit up. It was a beautiful three story log home. She wondered if this is where they would be staying. The car turned to pull into the driveway and she was in awe of the home before her. ‘If it’s this beautiful outside, I can’t wait to see what it looks like inside.’ she thought to herself as she gasped at the sight. Approval was written all over her face and Brian was happy that she felt that way.

Exiting the car and going around to open Allison’s door, Brian took hold of her hand and lead her to the front door. Pulling out a set of keys and unlocking the door, he turned to her and kissed her sweetly. “After you!” He bowed his head and with his hand on the small of her back, escorted her inside like a the true gentleman that he is.

“Oh Brian! It’s absolutely gorgeous!” The breathtaking home was more than she expected. She entered a grand room and took a look out the large windows to the left. It was now nearly 5:00 p.m. and the sun was just about to set. Standing in the warmth of the sun’s heavenly rays she felt a pair of hands wrap around from behind her, bringing together their bodies as they watched the sunset together. “Mmm, that was beautiful.” She melted into Brian’s arms. “Yes it was, almost as beautiful as you.” Turning her in his arms Brian brought her close again and leaned in for a soft kiss. He pulled away to go get their luggage, but Allison brought him back. She cupped her hands around Brian’s neck and gave him a passionate earth shaking kiss. “What was that for?” Surprised at her boldness. “For this.” Looking around the room and pointing out all of it’s wonder with her hands. “For everything! I love you, Brian!” Returning the favor Brian gave her an equally earth shaking kiss. “You are very welcome, Baby. Our time here...It’s all for you. Anything your heart desires, it’s yours.” Smiling shyly and placing her hand on his chest. “Silly boy! I don’t need all this. All I need, all I want...Is YOU! I’ve never needed anything more than that.” Brian held on to her tightly bringing her as close to him as humanly possible. “I love you too.”

“Now, why don’t you go take a look at the rest of the house. I’ll go get our bags and put things away. I’m sure there is something upstairs that will help take the chill off of you.” Swatting her on the bottom and with the words... “Now scoot!” She excitedly ran from room to room looking at everything.

By the time she made her way up to the top floor, and the Master bedroom, Brian was already there unpacking their suitcases and hanging up their clothing in the walk-in closets. He walked back over to the bed where the suitcases were placed as an excited Allison came whizzing by him. She spun around and landed on the bed. “I love it! Everything, it’s just so beautiful!” Closing the suitcase and moving a bit, Brian climbed up on the bed, straddled her and leaned down for a kiss. “I’m glad you like it, but did you see what’s in there?” He motioned with his head. “No! What’s in there? Brian! Tell me, what’s in there?” She tried to get up but Brian had her hips pinned to the bed. Laughing as she playfully struggled to go see what was on the other side of the door. “You have to pay the toll.” A devilish smile played across his face. “Ah! Is that so? And what exactly is the toll?” As she ceased her struggle. “That’s for you to figure out my dear.” She laid there and pondered what it would take for Brian to free her. She had an idea. “I think I know what the toll is. Come here!” Gesturing with a come hither finger movement, she raised her hands to his shoulders and began to pull him down to her.

Just as she was about to kiss him she bucked him off of her sending him to land on the pillows beside her. She scurried like a little mouse trying to escape her capture. She almost made it too, but Brian managed to catch hold of her hand as he brought himself up onto his knees. He pulled her back to him. She stood in front of him with a smile on her face. “You forgot to pay the toll!” She leaned in and started placing featherlike kisses all over his face and neck, then went in for the kill. With all of the excitement that had been building in her she kissed him soundly and passionately, deepening the kiss as her hands traveled from Brian’s, up his arms and down his back. Pulling his shirt up and tracing her nails along his back she sent shivers through him. She released his shirt, brought her hands to his shoulders and upon ending the kiss she pushed him backwards on the bed and laughing as she hurriedly went into the next room to see what was there. “A Jacuzzi!” Brian heard her exclaim. “Brian, come in with me please!”

She ran back out of the room to see Brian sitting on the bed, proud as a peacock. “Not this time Baby. I’ve got some things I need to do first, but you go ahead without me.” Sad puppy dog eyes peered at Brian. “Don’t worry Baby, we will have plenty of time for that. I just have something planned for us tonight and I need to make sure that everything is ready. So you go, relax, and when you’re finished I’ll have for you a nice dress waiting for you to slip into. I want this night to be special.” Brian walked over to her and with his hands pulled her hair off of her shoulders and let his hand travel down her back reaching her waist and then pulling her close to him. Tenderly he kissed her, reassuring her that they would have their time together in the Jacuzzi, but for now he must go. With one last kiss and a few departing words he left her in the room to go check on all of the preparations.

While Allison was in the Jacuzzi, with specific instructions not to rush, Brian was downstairs preparing for what he hoped would be a night Allison would never forget. A chef had been brought in to cook for them a delicious, yet not too fancy, meal. Brian was in the grand room that had taken Allison’s breath away. He moved the coffee table, which was positioned in front of the fire place, out of the room and then went outside where there was truck awaiting him. Inside the truck were a few cloth bags that Brian and the driver unloaded into the house. Brian unzipped the bags to reveal many, many pillows of all shapes and sizes. Brian arranged the pillows on the floor in front of the fire place, which was now burning quite nicely. Candles were placed on the mantle and all around the room.

Smells from downstairs pulled Allison from her near slumber state as the bubbles from the Jacuzzi had done it’s job quite well. She decided that she would get out and get dressed. She wrapped a soft luxurious towel around her lean body and walked into the bedroom. Just as promised, Brian had a beautiful black dress laying out on the bed for her. She got dried, dressed, put her hair up and applied a touch of make up before making her way out of the room.

She was met in the hallway by Brian, who was dressed in a fine black suit with a white shirt and tie, looking absolutely amazing! “You look beautiful my dear!” Taking her hand. “Thank you Brian, you are looking quite handsome yourself.” He took her down the back stairs to the dining area where he seated her then excused himself as he went into the kitchen.

The chef had everything prepared. Brian compensated him and thanked him for his fine work. Now it was time for Brian to take over. He had champagne chilling and was just about ready to serve the food. He returned to the dining room served both of them and said a toast to his lovely lady with a promise that the best it yet to come. The entrée was delectable, the conversation titillating, and company divine.

After dinner Brian took the hand of the woman he loved and lead her into the room he had prepared with candles and pillows. Easing her down onto the pillows, Brian moved to turn on some romantic music. Returning to Allison, Brian brought himself down to one knee in front of her. Reaching down he lifted up one foot, slowly and seductively removing her shoe, placing it ever so gently on the floor to the side of him, never breaking eye contact. His hands were working their magic as he stroked up her leg and down again stopping long enough to massage her delicate foot. She squirmed just a bit as he found a ticklish spot. Delighting in the effect his hands were having on her, he reached down to do a repeat performance on the other.

What wonderful sensations Brian was sending through her. She smiled at him causing him to smile in return. Lowering her foot he crawled towards her like a lion on the prowl till he reached her lips. Placing very soft light kisses on her lips he inched his way ever closer, each kiss becoming longer and harder. Closer still, he sought entry as his tongue moved across her bottom lip, she would not deny herself or Brian this pleasure. Her lips parted and their tongues tasted of each other. Their hearts racing, their breathing becoming shallow, Brian reached around Allison to gently lower her to the pillows, their lips never parting. Running her hands through Brian’s hair, Allison stopped at the base of his neck where his curls were. She loved to twirl those curls around her fingers.

They were both getting pretty heated. Brian, realizing that he still had something that he wanted to do a little later, needed to slow things down. He started to part from her, but not leaving her with an empty feeling, he showered her with kisses before rolling off of her and holding her in his arms.

In the flickering light of the fire they lay there with a mound of pillows under their backs to keep them in a semi-upright position, holding each other and talking. Talking about the past, the present, and even their future together. About good times they’ve had and the many more they hoped to share in the future.

Some time passed and they had grown quiet, just basking in each other’s love when Brian broke the silence. “Are you thirsty?” Allison shook her head in an affirmative response. “Be right back then.” Brian scooted away from her. “Keep my place warm will ya?”

“And just what place is that?” She fought to keep the devilish grin from appearing on her face, but she wasn’t strong enough to hold it back and it peered through to Brian. It did not go unnoticed. Crawling back towards her, he laid a finger upon her lips. “This place right here.” Then followed the touch of his finger with his lips drawing in her bottom lip and sucking gently at it before pulling away and heading to the dining room to get the champagne and glasses. He removed from his pocket a fine velvet box, opened it to reveal a three karat round diamond engagement ring. Brian pulled the ring from it’s box and carefully placed it in Allison’s champagne glass, so not to make any noise with it, then poured a bit more of the bubbly liquid into each of the glasses and carried them and the bottle into the living room.

“I’d like to propose a toast.” Brian announced as he raised his glass in the air. “To the one girl who can make all of my dreams come true. You are my love, you are my life, you are a little piece of heaven. To Allison! I love you Baby!” Tears welled up in Allison’s eyes as Brian’s words touched her heart. “To us!” She said in reply as they both sipped from their glasses, the fire light sparkling in their eyes. Allison didn’t take her eyes off of Brian, she had not seen the ring in the glass and Brian tempted her to take another sip hoping she would look into the glass. Leaning in for a soft kiss and pulling away. “Doesn’t the champagne bubbles look like tiny diamonds in this light?” Brian said, barely managing to keep a straight face, for Allison must see the ring this time. “Yes, it kind of...What’s that?” The fire light wasn’t enough for her to see exactly what was in the glass, so she dipped a finger in the golden liquid and pulled out the ring. “Brian?” Moving from the pillows Brian got on one knee, took the ring from Allison’s hand and began to place it on her finger just stopping short of actually doing so. “Allison, my love, we’ve been together for a year and a half and from the very moment I met you I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Allison gasped as the realization of what was happening hit her. Tears tumbled down her cheeks as she sat there in shock. Moving in close to her ear Brian whispered to her. “Ally, will you marry me?” A very slight but audible sound escaped her lips. “Y...yes, I will.” Brian finished placing the ring on her finger then pulled her to him. They locked in a loving embrace, tenderly bringing together all of their love. They were meant to be together, forever, and with the asking of the question and the giving of the ring, they were now only for each other. They were for now and always a part of each other.
