They left to go to Sue's house about an hour later. It was just on dark when they pulled up and Brian jumped out of the car running around to Sue's side to help her out. He knew she was feeling nervous about coming back and he felt the anger building inside him at Spencer Newman for making her feel like that in her own home. He hid the anger well, taking her into his arms and together they walked to the front door. The anger built even further when they tried to put the key in the lock and the door became ajar. It was obvious someone had broken in here and Brian knew this would be the last straw for Sue. He turned to look at her, noticing the horror in her eyes that were ready to spill tears down her cheeks. Brian instantly pulled her into his arms to comfort her. "It's okay Sue. I'm going to look after you. Will and I. Look, he's over there watching out for us both." he said soothingly despite the anger he felt. His hand was stroking her back in a comforting motion. "But he's been here Brian. He's been in my house." Sue cried out, pulling away. "Come on. We are going to make sure he doesn't come near here any more." "How?" "Just let me make a few calls," he said as they walked in. He sat Sue on the chair near the phone and began to dial a number. Less than 15 minutes later he had his own security company ready to roll on out to the house within the next half an hour to put a state of the art security system in. Sue protested about the cost, but Brian would hear nothing about it. He had inadvertently put her in this situation, he was going to help her out. They checked through the house to see what damage had been done, but it seemed to be that Spencer only wanted to scare Sue into thinking he could get to her any time. He would get a surprise next time he tried. Together they gathered some articles of clothing and work equipment Sue would need for the next few days at Brian's house, both of them deciding that she and Will would return to pack for her trip to be with him on tour when it was closer to the time. They watched as the security team arrived and began work. Brian had postponed his trip back to the others till early morning, after ringing Kevin to explain the situation. Brian had been sure Kevin would hit the roof, but he was very understanding and told Brian to take good care of Sue. Brian told him he would do no less. Once the security system was explained to Sue, how it would work while she was on the premises and how it would work while she was away, they packed the final things in the car and headed back to Brian's house. On entering the gated community, Sue felt better that she was staying here at Brian's. She knew Spencer wouldn't get into the area, let alone near her. The staff on the security for the community was now well aware of the Brian impersonator and regardless of whether it was the real Brian or not, if he did not have his plastic access card at the gate, he did not get in. This was a rule Brian himself had insisted upon. Will and Sue had been given cards too, and were both told by Brian to guard them carefully. When he handed Sue's over, telling her how important it was, he had leaned down and kissed her gently, telling her it was all going to be okay. She was exhausted by the time they finished unloading her gear into the house. Brian had asked her which room she wanted to use, hoping she would choose his. She became shy at his question and wouldn't answer. He pulled her into his arms and murmured to her, "I would love you to share my room." That was all it took along with a heart-stopping kiss and Sue was unpacking her things in Brian's room. It felt a little strange to be doing that, especially with him hovering behind her, helping her the entire time, but soon she was unpacked and hopefully not taking up too much of his space. It was a glorious room, with a view to kill for out the back of the yard leading to a small lake in the middle of the housing development. The entire estate was beautiful, obviously in a class of it's own. Brian's house had impressed her when she had first visited him there, but she had only glanced at the bedroom. Now she would be sharing it with him. Well, she wasn't actually sharing it with him considering he was leaving in the morning, but for tonight they would. Her body tingled at the thought of last night, sharing her room with him. Unexpectedly, she yawned, covering her mouth in horror. "Oh I'm sorry Brian, that just slipped out." "That's okay, why don't you go lay down. You've been through a lot today." "Yeah, started out so wonderfully too." She said to him, her eyes softening at the memory. Brian pulled her into his arms holding her close. "It started the best way possible Baby." Brian wanted to let his lips wander slowly to hers, taking their time getting there, sliding up her neck slowly, lovingly. His tongue following the same path, working on instinct, his body responding. Sue was turning him into someone he didn't recognise, but he couldn't help himself. He wanted her. He knew she was tired though and he had to let her rest. He was torturing himself thinking like this, but he was powerless to stop it. He rested his lips on her forehead for a soft undemanding kiss. It wasn't what he wanted to do, but it was going to have to do for now. Sue reached up and draped her arms up around Brian's neck, her fingers instantly playing with the curls there. He saw her face soften looking lovingly at him. It was almost his undoing. Then she yawned, apologising yet again. "Sue, go get yourself ready for bed. I'll go and make us a light snack. I'll let Will know you are going to sleep now. He may as well turn in if he wants." Sue nodded and watched Brian leave. She waited till she heard him reach the kitchen and then gathered up some of her things, heading to the bathroom. She changed, washed and brushed her teeth then walked back into Brian's bedroom. She walked over to the bed and ran her hand along the covers. Nervous butterflies fluttered in her stomach to think this was Brian's bed, one she was going to share with him. She pulled back the covers, a thick but soft feather and down quilt, and climbed into the bed, surprised to find it was a waterbed. She snuggled into the warmth of the bed and pulled the quilt around her. This was bliss, she thought, closing her eyes to savour the moment. That's how Brian found her 10 minutes later when he returned carrying some crackers and cheese and some fruit he had cut up. He stood by the bed looking at her, his heart swelling with love. He would keep her safe. No one was going to hurt her or take her from him. He itched just to hold her in his arms and he quickly returned the food to the kitchen and returned, changing into his boxers and t-shirt. Brian climbed into the bed beside Sue, moving close to her. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to his body. He warmed at the thought of what they shared last night and he wished she were awake now so they could repeat their night of love. Holding her close would do for him now. She needed the sleep and he also wanted what was best for her. He sighed, knowing this was the feeling of love. Early the next morning they had awoken together and neither one of them could resist each other then, both of them giving in to their desires, making slow sweet love. Even now, sitting at the kitchen table, breakfast in front of them, they couldn't keep their eyes off each other. Their fingers touched across the table, almost needing that contact for their little bit of remaining time. "Promise me you will be careful," Brian said to Sue. "I promise Brian. I won't go anywhere without Will." She squeezed his fingers. "Besides, I will be here working my butt off to get this work finished so I can join you. I will feel much safer once I am with you." "I will feel better once you are with me. I am going to worry myself crazy." Sue squeezed his fingers again, and reached out to take his other hand too. "Brian. Please, don't worry about me. I am a big girl you know. I am aware of what is going on. I know to look out for Spencer. And as soon as I possibly can, I will come to be with you for a while. By that time I come back he might have gotten sick of waiting and moved on. We can hope that's the case." "Yeah," Brian said unconvincingly. "And I am going to enjoy touring with you. Just being with you every day," Sue winked at him, "and night." He shot her a look of desire, both of them knowing there was no time to act on the desire. Within the hour Brian would be on a plane heading back to his band mates on tour, waiting for Sue to join him. He reached over and kissed her before rising to collect his bags he had packed. "I promise not to trash the place," Sue said to him in a light hearted voice, despite feeling sadness at his impending departure. "Baby, just make yourself at home." If he had his way, before too long this would be her home too, but he didn't want to push the issue too soon. He kissed her passionately before moving away to get in the cab that was waiting. Sue stood by the door watching the car drive away. The morning was crisp and clear, the sun shining brightly with only a few clouds in the sky but she didn't notice that. Her heart felt heavy. She sighed and turned, returning to the kitchen to clean up the few plates they had used. Will sat in the kitchen drinking a cup of strong looking black coffee. "Good Morning Will." "Mornin' Sue. Nice day out." "Yeah, I guess." She paused with her wiping of the bench looking out over the spacious yard. "Will. I'd just like to thank you for yesterday. If you hadn't arrived when you had, I don't know what I would have done." He nodded. It was obvious he wasn't used to compliments or praise. "I'll keep you safe. It's my job." But the relationship between Sue and Will became more than employee and his charge. Sue enjoyed having around Will, and Will relaxed his professional stance with her, becoming more of a father figure. She enjoyed talking with him about many world issues and found herself showing him the intricacies of her computer work, which he seemed to pick up fairly easily. She suspected he had some computer knowledge he was not letting on about. He even made a few worthy suggestions. He always hovered around her, making sure she was alright. Her days were always filled and although she missed Brian, she had little time to sit around pining after him. There were times she found herself daydreaming about him, almost feeling what they had shared that first night together, but she soon snapped herself out of it, knowing the sooner she finished this work, the sooner she would be back in his arms again. He would ring her in the evenings, taking her away from her work, almost sensing when she needed a rest, when it was time to quit, talking to her well into the night. While she talked, she turned her computer off, indicated to Will she was heading to bed and went to the bedroom to snuggle up in Brian's big bed and talk to him. Brian was always full of romantic talk, making her miss him all the more, but she had to finish this work before she could go. Finally, only 4 days later, days filled with solidly working on her computer, she finished her work and sent it in to her boss. There was enough time to go to her house and pack a few clothes and personal items she would need for the trip to go with the things she already had at Brian's place, and still get on the evening flight to meet Brian that night after the show. She didn't want to tell Brian they were coming, she wanted to surprise him. So, with Will, she drove over to her house. The minute she stepped on to her front step, Spencer was behind her saying hello to her. Now what was she going to do? She felt relived Will was with her. "Brian, you frightened me. What are you doing here?" Sue asked in a calm voice, pretending he didn't concern her. "Aren't I going to get a kiss? It's been so long." He tried to move in close and Will was ready to intervene. "Not now Brian. I am sort of in a hurry, I have a trip to go on." She looked at Will. "Don't I Will?" He nodded his reply. "And you are running out of time Ma'am. We need to hurry." "You've been away already. I've missed you." Spencer's arm snuck out and curled around her waist and Sue turned to pull away from him. "How come you have a break in the tour again?" Sue asked almost baiting him. He shrugged. "We have a couple of days off. I wanted to come and see you. Is there anything wrong with that?" "Brian," Sue said turning to look at him. "I really don't think this is working out. You are always away, I need to keep going away with my work. We aren't getting much of a chance. I think we should cool things for a while. Move on maybe." Spencer snarled. "You aren't going to get rid of me that easily you know." Sue frowned at him. "Brian. This isn't working. Under different circumstances maybe, but not like this. This isn't getting rid of you, it's just stating facts. Look I need to be going. Please. Just….." she didn't know what to say to him. "After what we shared? You can say that? After than incredible night of passion we had?" he said to her giving her the creeps. It wasn't him, she knew it wasn't him, so how did he know about it. Surely he wasn't watching her and Brian. "That was a mistake Brian. It should never have happened." Sue said to him bitterly. "I don't believe you. I won't give up Sue." He said before turning away. He stepped down onto the path before turning back. "You won't get rid of me that easily." He said sending a chill through Sue. Will put a protective arm around her shoulder and guided her inside. "And that sugar daddy won't be able to satisfy you like I can," he left as a parting shot, angering Sue. "Oh my God Will, I'm sorry he said that." Sue felt mortified. "Forget it. He isn't worth it. You know we have had the company check him out. He is not worth your time." Will said trying to sound convincing, knowing all too well that what they had found was indeed disturbing. "Now come on. Don't you want to surprise Brian tonight?" "I sure do. I can't wait to see him again." "So hop to it. Lets get you packed. What would you like me to help with?" he asked and the two of them set about packing Sue's things. Before long they were back at Brian's consolidating her packing, and calling for a car to take the two of them to the airport. Excitement was overtaking anything else Sue was feeling making her forget about Spencer. Soon she would be with Brian again. But Spencer wasn't going to forget her. |
