Chapter 24

Over the next few days Sue was settling back into her normal self again and even beginning to work on her computer again. It was a little difficult with her arm in plaster, but she did as best as she was able. She had informed her boss of the setback and he gave her more time on the project, even offering her sick leave which she considered taking. Brian talked her into it and she advised her boss of her decision. She could still work on the project, it's just she had no deadline now.

She discussed the nagging worry of not paying her way on this trip with Brian and he brushed it off immediately telling her, even if she had been there as a guest only, he would not hear of her paying towards anything. But she was his girlfriend and someone special in his life. She was there with him and he didn't want her worrying about it. She still felt a little odd about it and he reminded her she had no choice about it now. Security for her safety was here, and she had to be here. Every word he said he said in the most loving caring way that Sue couldn't help but agree with him. Never once did she feel he was trying to be possessive.

Sue began to spend a lot more time with the other guys. It wasn't always practical for her to be with Brian all the time, so she started to interact with the others more. Brian was okay with that now, knowing she was safe with them.

AJ started spending time with her when she used her computer. He was watching her graphics skills one day and asked her if she could help him design a new tattoo. This led to many hours of talking about what sort of thing he wanted, and Sue asked him about his tattoos, how they were done, if they hurt and so on. She decided there was no way she would get one, because she hated any sort of pain, let alone self inflicted pain. She concluded the only artwork she wanted was on her plaster cast, so AJ obliged, drawing an elaborate design on the underside of the cast.

That led to the others all joining in the artwork of the cast. After Brian had drawn his own design of an intricately drawn heart with their names in fancy script, someone mentioned that plaster cast would fetch a fortune on an Ebay auction. That had Sue in stitches laughing, wondering why anyone would want to buy such a gross item. The art was beautiful, but the cast itself was smelly and horrible. She couldn't wait till it was off her arm.

Howie lived up to his Sweet D nickname and came to her just to talk. He shared his ideas on his building investments with her, discussing the job of decorating with Sue. She loved dabbling in colour schemes and decorating ideas, and many a day Howie would poke his head in to show Sue some new idea he had. Once again, the computer was an excellent tool, showing colours and designs before they were chosen for his rooms. He also took an interest in her love of movies, as did all the guys, but Howie was the one she discussed plots and characters and the merits of a good movie with. There was a video player on tour with them and they hired many movies to watch. Of course Brian loved to share a good comedy or romance with her too.

Kevin came to their hotel room one day to ask what she thought he could buy Jac for a birthday gift. Sue didn't know her as well as Kevin, but he wanted a female perspective on a gift, because he wanted it to be special. Sue had been spending a lot of time with Jac lately and knew she had a passion for English Literature. "Kevin, why don't you buy her something like a limited edition works of William Shakespeare. Even something leather bound. I think she would really appreciate something like that."

"That's a good idea. She loves all those pieces of literature. I'll see what I can find. Thanks Sue."

Sue smiled at Kevin. "No problem Kevin." She said looking back at her computer.

Kevin didn't want to leave her just yet, Brian having asked him to watch over her for a while. "Are you online now? Is there any chance something like that could be found on the Internet?" he asked her enthusiastically. Now that Sue had given him this little brainwave, he wanted to begin the search.

"We can sure take a look. Here, you take over the mouse my arm is getting sore. I'll direct you through." Sue said getting up and letting Kevin move into her chair. "Would you like a coffee or something?" she asked him.

"That sounds wonderful," he agreed and Sue set about the task of making coffee while talking him through finding an item such as they had discussed online. "So how have you been Sue, really?" he asked, changing the subject.

She shrugged as she did so often when asked the same question. "I'm doing okay Kevin. I have my moments. I think I am basically over what happened before, but it's the waiting, he said he would be back, he said he was coming to get me. That's what worries me now."

"He can't get you now Sue, even if he tries security will get to him." He watched her face as he spoke those words, seeing some calm washing over her.

"Thanks to you guys. I would have no chance if it wasn't for you."

"We wouldn't let anything happen to you. Are you still having the dreams?"

"Not for a few nights now." In truth, she hadn't really had a bad one since the day Brian and her were at the reserve. Lying in Brian's arms after they had made love that day back at the hotel and many times since, and having been so at peace with him again seemed to have held the dreams at bay.

Almost as if on cue, Brian appeared at the door, led in by David. Sue smiled at him and he came straight over to kiss her. "Would you like a coffee Brian?" she asked him.

"Sure." He wrapped his arms around her waist and nuzzled her hair. "You been looking after my girl here Kevin?"

"Yeah, sort of. She's actually been helping me."

"Oh?" Brian asked, as Sue was pouring the water into the cups. Brian was careful not to move suddenly still remembering the time Sue burnt her hand. That seemed such a long time ago.

"I found one." Kevin exclaimed suddenly and Brian made sure her hands stayed still. Sue laughed at him knowing what he was thinking and she absently looked at her hand. There was no sign of the previous burn. She finished pouring the water and then walked over to see what Kevin had found, leaving Brian to pour the milk into the coffee.

Kevin took all the details he needed from the webpage he had found, then the three of them sat around the small table drinking coffee and talking. It was nice to sit there and talk like that, they never got the opportunity very often. But before long Kevin had to excuse himself, telling them he needed to find Jac before they went off to the venue today.

"Probably wants to do exactly what I want to do," Brian whispered in Sue's ear sending shivers up and down her spine.

"Oh and what would that be?" she asked a little breathlessly.

"Make passionate love to his beautiful girlfriend," he murmured kissing her on the side of the ear, his tongue beginning to send the familiar stirring of heat through her body. It always happened. Whenever Brian said something sexy to her, she was always ready for him, wanting him. He had a magical effect over her. He began kissing his way down to her lips, leaving a sizzling trail down her cheek. Her breathing became unsteady and she eagerly awaited his lips on hers. "Does my beautiful girlfriend agree?"

"Yes," she hissed out and his lips crashed down on hers. He kissed her softly at first, slowly letting the passion build up between them. He wanted to show her how much she meant to him, taking his time to express his love. He never thought he could love anyone like he loved Sue, but she was always there, always in his mind, and if she wasn't with him, he was thinking about her, wondering what she was doing.

They removed each other's clothes and lay on the bed. Brian lay beside her looking into her eyes, his hand gently running through her hair. "I want you Sue. Do you want me?"

She merely nodded and let him climb over her and enter her, still slowly and lovingly. But it wasn't long before they both hurried the pace, both of them crying out the others name. Brian was watching her at first, the love he was feeling radiating from them as their eyes locked. Sue felt a warm bubble of love well up inside her, almost pushing her over the edge, but when Brian grunted, once then twice with his release, she was overcome with the feeling of the love she saw, the desire she felt. She closed her eyes and moaned his name over and over, a warm glow washing over her. Brian was the only person who had ever made her feel this way. And she knew he would be the only person who ever would.

He rolled to her side and pulled her into his arms kissing the side of her face. She sighed with bliss. Neither one of them spoke for some time, both completely absorbed in thoughts of how important the other was to them. "I will never tire of telling you I love you, but I do," Brian said finally. "Words can't express how much, so I just have to keep telling you."

Sue nodded, knowing exactly what he meant. The three simple words of 'I love you' did not seem to express the feelings between them strongly enough. It didn't stop either one of them telling the other throughout the day or night, any time they felt like it, usually accompanied by a kiss.

The two were inseparable that evening at the venue, holding each other close, kissing when the mood struck them and accepting the teasing coming from the others. For some reason Brian felt he had to show Sue exactly how much he loved her and needed her. The time came for the Boys to position themselves for the start of the concert and Brian kissed Sue before she left. She turned to walk away, heading into the tunnel to the venue, both guards in front of her as she went. Brian remembered something he forgot to tell her and ran towards the tunnel, knowing he could go no further, hoping she would hear him call. Just as he turned towards the tunnel he heard her scream out his name and ran….

Sue had walked out into the tunnel, her guards ahead of her instead of one behind her. Both David and Will had been given the night off, having worked tirelessly in protecting Sue. This had been the one chance Spencer had been waiting for.

As she walked, still in the long tunnel, but half way into the crowd, someone jumped down from the crowd behind her. An arm snaked around her waist and a hot breath hissed in her ear. "Did I break your arm did I? What a shame, I really wanted something else," came a voice and Sue instantly stood still, fear overtaking her. She remembered that evil voice and her heart began pounding in her chest. The bodyguards didn't notice her stop, continuing on their way to their designated spot. Vaguely she thought Brian is not going to be impressed with them, then she thought nothing except she was not going to let this maniac get away with this.

She screamed out Brian's name then another high pitched scream and Spencer pulled roughly against her, trying to muffle her screams. Unknown to either of them, Brian was in the entrance to the tunnel and the second he heard her screaming he was running out to her, with no protection. That was secondary to him now. Is priority was to get to Sue and help her.

Sue lashed out at Spencer, who in her subconscious mind was disguised differently this time. She hit him across the forehead with her plaster cast and he reeled back with the force of the blow, and he threw her back. She lost her footing and hit her head on the cement wall. She sat up again trying to shake it and things were blurring for her.

"Oh My God, it's Brian." She heard the screams of the fans as Brian ran towards them in the tunnel. A crowd of fans were lunging forward and Brian could see Sue would be crushed.

With all his might he screamed. "NO STOP!" to the fans and incredibly, they actually listened, stunned into stopping. Before him was a choice. Save Sue from the fans who were only shocked into stopping for a moment, or get Spencer and give him the hiding of his life. But if he did that he knew the fans would trample Sue. If he didn't act he had no doubt Spencer would grab Sue and run. He had a nerve attempting this at a concert. There was no choice to be made he had to save Sue. He ran towards her and scooped her up in his arms, turning instantly and running back into the backstage area where the fans couldn't follow. He knew Spencer would get away, but Sue was his priority.

Brian took Sue into his dressing room and laid her on the lounge, checking her over. She was in a semi conscious state and he began to panic when he couldn't wake her properly. "Someone get a doctor," he screamed.
